If all you need is somewhere to lay your head at night, then this is for you. The rooms are OK, "rustic" as they're described. I would say Its more in need of a bit of T.L.C.
Floors squeak very loudly, especially in the corridor and not helped by thin walls. The breakfast is not so good, so I avoided that after the first day. Plenty of cafes and boulangeries within a couple of minutes walk.
But, the price is good for Paris and the location is excellent, right next to the lovely Luxembourg Gardens. Plenty of shopping and great little restaurants nearby. The little cafe next door does a great coffee also.
The nearest Metro station (Vavin) is only 4 or 5 minutes walk. You can walk to the Latin quarter in about 10 to 15 minutes, going right by the Pantheon.

I don't even know where to start. As soon as we got there to check-in, we immediately got the vibe that we were a total inconvenience to the owners of this hostel/hotel/guesthouse whatever you want to call it. It seems like the place is run by an old lady and her son? No idea. Regardless, they were extremely rude - (and I'm French to begin with). We paid around 70 Euros per night/ for 2 nights.
So they give us our keys, we walk to our room..and basically the room is completely an open floor plan - has a full size bed, a twin size bed, a dresser, a sink, and a shower (with a glass wall)....visible for anyone in the room to see. So when you aren't travelling with a partner (as in my case, my brother, it's kind of an issue). According to the 'owner' - all of the rooms are this way. So basically, anytime we showered, one of us had to stare at the other wall to make sure we didn't see the other person.

Then, we lift up the bed sheets and I can't count how many hairs (of all shapes and sizes) were on the bed. So we go downstairs and ask the owner to change the sheets..they said they would do it by 8pm (it was 5pm at the time). 8pm roles around..and still nothing. We complain again because we literally couldn't sit anywhere...finally head out to dinner, the sheets were changed when we got back.

The next day (as I'm facing the wall) my brother takes a shower and as soon as he is done, we hear a loud noise and immediately a ton of brown gunk overflows the shower. We alert the staff and apparently this is a common occurance, so they clean it and go about their day.

That morning, we go down for the "free breakfast" which basically consists of dried up baguette and jam and tea/coffee.

I would never recommend this hostel to anyone. Seriously, I know Paris is expensive but do yourself a favor and spend the extra 20 Euros to get something at least decent.
This was horrendous beyond words.

Locations is good, the hotel is ok, room was large (family room), a bit strange that shower in a room without a special room, which means, that all family can see you, how you take a shower. Rooms needs a proper housekeeping, because is full of dust. About reception: there is old women, she is discusting, she doesn't want to speak English at all, even english is not my first language. She is very rude, not helpful at all. Usually when you arriving to the hotel, you make your payments on departure, but she told us to pay on arrival, thats ok, but we find out, that we don't have enough euro to pay, and we asked her to let us pay in a morning, or later when we will get some more euros, she started to shout at us, and saying to pay now with a card. We didn't want to pay by card, because its extra charge for different currency. When we paid by card, she charged us 2 euro on top of my booking which I have made on booking.com. When I asked her why, she didn't want to explain in English, but i don't speak french at all :( so, we could not understand what she said. Other members was friendly, but they finished their shift early. Breakfast is crap, jam and bread only( bread is like a wood), coffee is awful. Receptionist came 3 times in breakfast room, to check us, even there was only two of us with infant :( take a look my breakfast picture, what you see, its all you get in a morning. Toilets are outside of the room, they was clean, but its for small person, large sizes persons will not be able to get there, door is too close to toilet. Lift is very small, i even could not get a pushchair inn :(

This hotel has a good location, is relatively cheap (can't get much more for this price in Paris), has really nice, friendly staff (which is, again, to be appreciated when staying in Paris;) ). For example, we asked the receptionist for a blow drier and he was happy to help, and also had a silly request to borrow two spoons and again, he helped us with a smile. So, big plus for the staff.
The rooms were somewhat small, but comfortable, so was the bed, which is important. The shower was in the room, again very small, which is a minus here. But all in all it didn't bother us as much, we've taken into account that we're in Paris and that you have to pay more if you want any special luxury. The toilet was in a hall, tiny, but if you're out of the room all day, exploring the city, you practically avoid using it.
The location is as mentioned very good, right next to Jardin du Luxembourg and in a walking distance to the metro station and a good starting point to just walk around and explore Paris.
Breakfast was OK, cost 5 euro, and there was not much choice. Marmelade, butter, nutella, coffee, bread, and there was no juice! If I recall that was mostly all, so I recommend to go out for a breakfast, have a croissant, enjoy the city.

I have just got back from three nights here, and whilst I was slightly nervous given some of the reviews on here, I could not have been more satisfied. The room was a very comfortable size for two, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful and spacious. Breakfast was basic but very welcome and the owner in reception was friendly and respectful of privacy and space. The location is excellent both in terms of walking around Paris and utilising the metro from numerous stops. We had our balcony door open and weren't disturbed by the street below on any of the nights.

My only slight complaint was the size of the lavatory, as it's cramped to say the least, but this was a minor concern.

Would happily stay here again, but don't look this way if you're after a hotel to spend time in; as a base it is excellent value for money.

The hotel has a good location for visiting Paris. there's a bus station right across the entrance and the metro station is reachable in less than 10 mins on foot. The street is a very quiet one, and you won't find it alive at night.
The jardin du luxemborg is right next door and a good place to relax in.

The room was Ok, very basic with a shower (with good hot water) and a small sink. The bathroom is shared with the other residents on the floor and it's very small (if you have a big frame beware).
They didn't seem to change our sheets or towels during our 3 night stay. Breakfast is very poor to be avoided.

Location is great and the price is fantastice for central Paris. The room was quite small for the 3 of us but as we were only looking for bed space that was ok. The walls are very thin so whilst we didn't understand the language of the girls next door we heard their chattering well into the night.
If the advert also says ensuite shower this means no toilet, only a shower. The toilet was down the hall. More learning for us.
