Perfect location - near Luxembourg gardens, in the quiet and romantic street with cosy shops, bakeries and icehouses. All the most famous places of Paris we reached on foot, except the Monmartre (metro station is 5 minute walk from residence).
Not very big, but cosy, clean room, perfect view from the window (from the 6th floor we saw the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Secrée-Coeur). We had only shower cabin and sink in our room, the toilet is in the hall, but we knew it before booking, so it wasn't surprise for us.
Staff is friendly, but not very good at English. Breakfast is a little bit boring - bread plus cheese, marmelade or nutella and coffe machine. We hadn't electric tea kettle in the room. But look at the price - for that price you can't expect five star hotel facilities and gourmet breakfast! I THINK IT IS THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY IN PARIS, and will definitely come back!

Simple and inexpensive accommodations (toilet shared with two other rooms and a very small shower). Perfectly located in Paris on the Left Bank near the Jardin du Luxembourg. The owner speaks excellent English and was very helpful! Would definitely come again and recommend to friends.

Affordable and great location opposite the Luxembourg gardens. This is no sterile hotel- creaky floorboards covered in eastern carpets, useable antique furniture stuffed into your room, cute balconies with shutters and comfortable beds. There was a shower in my room with the toilet outside on the landing, but it actually was fine and although it's an old building full of character, it's spotlessly clean with very helpful and friendly staff. Great little corner cafe next door which also has WIFI, so a glass of wine or a meal is no great distance.

Room Tip: There is an elevator so a higher floor means a nicer view :)

We had a good room with a balcony that overlooked the street. The hotel is right next to the amazing luxembourg gardens and you can walk right through to st Germain so good area all in all. Close to metros.

However just a few negatives - shower was too small and facilities didn't have the best of smell/privacy. Having a toilet in the hall worked out ok. Sheets were only sometimes provided and didn't feel or look very clean. Disappointed by included breakfast was only a baguette and jams.

Overall pretty goo value and great location would reccomend

This is a hostel at an excellent location. The owners are also the staff and as with most family-run establishments, you can expect a friendly and caring service. The rooms deliver what you need, a good bed to sleep. There is not much space and it is clearly not a place were you want to spend the days - but that is not the idea either. One has to keep in mind that it is a hostel. The toilets are shared in the corridor for most rooms. They were nevertheless fresh and without queues when I visited.

The only negative aspect for was the breakfast, which was a bit of a disappointment. A piece of bread with marmelade and a coffee is not a buffet.

Room Tip: I recommend the rooms with shower. Keep in mind that they are small though.

For the price, this place is outstanding. The rooms offer character in their high Corinthian ceilings and cosy, little balconies that open out onto very traditionally Parisian streets. Crucially, the rooms are clean and fairly spacious.

The fact that you have to walk 5-10 steps to a WC is certainly not something I would criticise on the Residence's part; they have produced a wonderful piece of characterful, Parisian living in a faultless location and for a price that could never be disputed.

The staff deserve a mention too, as they were very helpful and obliging.

I will certainly be using the Residence again.

If you aren't looking for luxury but rather a good basic room at a great price for the location, then this is the place. Across from the most wonderful park in Paris with great bus and train stations nearby to get you to everything else.
