“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Stayed in Villathena earlier this year. Nice boutique hotel, which is centrally located, walking distance to subway and nearby Galeries Lafayette and Printemps for shopping.

Rooms are small (as expected) and modern. Same is the bathroom. I'd rather trade size for nicer, modern rooms with working facilities. Free Wifi is a good addition.

Great for those who plan to holiday in Paris!

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

We thank you for having taken the time to leave a feedback on Tripadvisor.

Indeed we have the chance to be very well located, only a few minutes far from some of the most popular attraction of Paris.

For your next trip to Villathéna *** we recommend you to book a superior room (Deluxe or Executive) which is more spacious, about 20 square meters for the deluxe room and 25 square meters for the executive room.

We look forward to having the chance to see you again very soon.

Sincerely,

The management

This hotel is very suitably situated near the Saint-Lazarre station which makes travelling very easy, it is also around 10minutes from Moulin Rouge and the Champ Elysees is around 10minutes by metro. The staff is very very helpful and very proficient in English and other languages. We highly recommend this hotel.

A special thanks goes to the management since we were supposed to stay in Villathena 2 but due to some repair works they gave us a room in the Hotel Villathena and were very helpful.

Room Tip: We stayed on the fourth floor, 403 classic double room, which was very quiet and suitable for us. Th...

we travelled with air france from newcastle and must say , they were very good , free drinks and snacks on the plane and everybody very nice,We were well looked after and that set the tone for our break as a whole. We then took a shared van ride to the Villathena hotel ,(this was a plus as the taxi drivers both ways were very pleasant and informative) we had originally booked the VilATHENA 2 but accepted a change just a week before because of work ? in progress. This in fact was not in our favour as the Villathena was further away from the center of Paris but in the hotels favour the manager did ring us up personally and after accepting an upgrade which went in some way to compensating us for the extra costs in transport to the amenities we wished to visit. The hotel itself was really very nice , The rooms were of course small but adequate , it had mirrored wardrobes , a small bathroom , TV on the wall and the room was air conditioned , Beds were very comfortable with . A nice thick mattress, plus it was really spotless. the sheets were lily white and although we were only there 3 nights they were changed the day before we came away. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. If you are prepared to do a bit of travelling to and fro then it is well worth using this hotel

Room Tip: Choose a back room for extra quietness, although it is in a quite street anyway

The hotel was good, nice and clean and service was also good. The rooms are tiny but unless u intend on spending alot of time in your room then it's fine! Great location close to trains, shops and cafe's.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

We first take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in the Villathéna***.

About the size of the room we have different category, the classic room is ideal for a short stay, for a longer stay we recommend Deluxe (about 20 square meters) or Executive room (about 25 square meters), you can have a look on our website, descriptions and pictures are regularly updated.

We hope we’ll welcoming you again soon.

Best Regards,

The management

Great location from which to explore Paris. The rooms were small although ony used for sleeping so not too much of an issue. They were clean and maid service was provided daily. We ate breakfast at local cafe's so unable to comment on the hotel breakfast.
We had booked interconnecting rooms but found they were located next to one another and did not actually connect to one another. We would recommend the hotel and stay again.

Great location, helpful staff! The continental breakfast is a little steep, but the "superior room" lived up to its name and was very nice to find such a hotel in Paris.

Room Tip: Try to get the superior room, it's a little bit more expensive but it's is worth!

The Hotel Villathena was a pleasant little hotel with comfortable conditions and breakfast provided. I was in a classic room for this stay.

PROS

- comfortable bed
- continental breakfast provided from 7:00am to 10:00am. If asked they will provide cooked sausages and scrambled egg as well
- hot, strong shower
- adequate storage space for one person with in-room safe
- room service meals available
- close to Gare St Lazare with Metro, RER and rail lines
- nearby eateries, cafes, pubs, restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store, bank (ATM) and laundromats
- widescreen TV with some English channels
- friendly staff
- Close to Galeries Lafayette (for the shoppers)
- very quiet due to double-glazed windows
- fast free wifi. I recorded an average download speed of 6.9MB/s and upload speed of 0.4MB/s

CONS

- Gare St Lazare has many connections. You will often find that you have to walk a long way to get to your platforms
- There are beggars at the station who will try to sell you used Metro tickets. Be careful of pick-pockets. They are everywhere in Paris (not just here) and very skilful.
- room was quite small. Shower recess was less than 1 square metrer in area
- you might feel a little self-conscious on the ground floor as you are at street level with people walking past your window. There are blinds of course. I found it difficult to see in when I tried looking in to my room from the street however.

I would certainly consider staying here again.

TIP If you go to the Metro level of Gare St Lazare you will find a Carrefours grocery store which will have meals and all grocery items, such as sandwiches, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, chips, chocolates, milk etc.

Room Tip: Would ask for something not on the ground floor due to passing pedestrian traffic.
