We stayed at the Hotel des Academies et des Arts for 3 nights in Feb 2013. The hotel is in a very good spot, 2 mins walk from Vavin metro station and with an abundence of lovely bars and bistros on the doorstep. Also lovely to walk through the Jardins du Luxenbourg each morning onto Bvd St Germain.
As others have stated, service is exemplary, the hotel is well-equipped and clean, we didn't take breakfast but a big plus is that it is served until 11am (12pm on weekends).
Rooms, again as mentioned are Paris-sized, even our Superior room felt like a squeeze and probably wasn't worth the upgrade, but if you go to Paris knowing you aren't going to get a big room, it shouldn't be a big deal.
Only other (small) criticism was that it got noisy early in the morning outside, so if possible I'd request a room at the back next time.

Dear guests,
Many thanks for your review.
The hotel has a nice and convenient location in a very little street with several metro stations within walking distance. Moreover there are many places to discover in the area (such as the Luxembourg Garden) and lots of restaurants and bistros that we will be happy to recommend as well.
We pay extra attention to maintain a very high level of service in our hotel every day. Cleanliness is of course a really important criterion as well for us.
There are three different room categories in our hotel. You will be able to find a small description together with a few pictures for each one of them.
We hope to welcome you in our hotel again.
Best regards,
Charlotte et Laurent Inchauspé

The first decision you need to make when you choose a Paris hotel is the district, and the second is whether you want to stay in a newly built hotel.

If you decide that the laid back Left bank is the place for you and that you would like to stay somewhere with some character, then you should stay at the Hotel des Academies et des Arts – it’s like having your very own artist’s garret in Paris.

Of course the thing about older hotels in Paris is they are pretty compact – but the rooms here are charming and well appointed and you soon don’t notice that you sort of have to sidle round the bed.

The continental breakfasts are great – a highlight for me was the huge fluffy cappuccinos that we had every morning on the big sofa next to the front window where we made our plans for each day.

The location is great too – there are whole host of metro connections to get anywhere in the city but there’s a great deal happening right on the doorstep. There’s a really surprisingly good art market just a few minutes’ walk away and many excellent restaurants. The hotel front desk could not have been more helpful in terms of recommendations.

Dear guests,
What a pleasure to read your review!
We take great pride in the atmosphere we created in our hotel. There are four different ambiances in the rooms. Moreover Jérome Mesnager added a personal touch in each room with his famous “white-bodies”.
We only serve fresh products to our guests for breakfasts: freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad, fresh bread and croissants…
The whole team sincerely hopes to welcome you in the future.
Best regards,
Charlotte and Laurent Inchauspé

Dear guests,
We were very touched by your warm review!
Art is indeed one of our passions. With that in mind, Charlotte created a very unique atmosphere for our hotel where art is omnipresent: video art, sculpture, paintings…
Our staff is indeed always happy to help our guests during their stay: helping with dinner reservations, giving insider’s tips about Paris…
The whole team sincerely hopes to welcome you in the future.
Best regards,

The hotel was a lovely little gem, beautiful decor and quirky artwork all over. The room was a little on the small side (but this is to be expected in Paris) but is not a problem for a long weekend.
Breakfast in the room was tasty with good coffee complete with cute heart shaped sugar lumps.. The wine we ordered for the room was also very good. The macaroons among the best I have sampled.
The porter and both of the gentlemen who we dealt with during our stay were both very helpful and polite and really could not do enough for us. Unfortunately, the female was not so great.
After waiting to check in whilst she was über polite whilst checking in another couple, we were hurriedly checked in, in an entirely different manner (maybe ww booked a cheaper room...) and summarily dispatched to our room. On the other occasion we dealt with her, we wanted information on dining in the Eiffel Tower but she was very abrupt and did not help with our enquiry. Dissapointing as not what one expects from a Luxury boutique hotel.
Even though the rest of the hotel and staff were great, it has put me off staying at the hotel as i sis feel like i was treated to the other guests she checked in and I will probably try somewhere else next time.

Dear guests,
Thank you so much for this kind review.
Charlotte created a really nice and unique atmosphere in our hotel, where arts are omnipresent from the lobby to the rooms, as well as in the staircase. We do indeed pay attention to every single detail to make our guests’ stay as enjoyable as possible: freshness of all our products, heart shaped sugars on the cups…
We were surprised by reading that you had a rather disappointing impression upon check-in. We do apologize for this and will try to understand what happened.
We hope to welcome you again to show you that we do take great pride in the level of service in our hotel, which is for us the most important thing.
Best regards,
Laurent Inchauspé

We had the best experience at Hotel des Academies et Arts! Our room was ready when we arrived around noon and the staff even gave us the choice between two rooms. We later were offered the best macaroons we ever tasted as a welcome gift. Room was small but perfectly set up. The location, 2 minutes from Luxembourg garden was also very adequate. We will be back, Merci!

Room Tip: Rooms on the courtyard (we stayed in room 11) have a small patio.
