“Excellent Boutique Hotel in a Great Location”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

This was our first visit to Paris, and based on other TA reviews, chose the Five Hotel. We really could not have been happier. The location is about 5-10 minutes to 2 different Metro and RER stations. There are a couple of really great restaurants very close, and on most days, there is a little farmers market very close. The design of the hotel is very modern with small little LED lights that sparkle. The hotel has a lift, which we only used to tote our luggage. The room itself was honestly tiny but pretty functional. We had a very cute little window that looked into the courtyard and it felt very Parisian to me. The bathroom is small but functional and honestly really well done. If I could have asked for anything in the room, it would have been somewhere to put our luggage, and a fridge. We had large bags since we were on a 2 week trip, but if I was there for just a short time, I would have been fine. Also, free WiFi which is always a treat.

The staff at this hotel really made us feel welcome. Tonya helped us out a ton. She helped make us dinner reservations and recommended good bar areas. Really all of the staff was just so friendly and help make this hotel one that I'd return to.

If you are looking for the most romantic place in the most romantic city, then One by The Five is the place. A suite that is completely dedicated to romantic privacy, with a boudoir style dressing room, champagne and a recipe for an aphrodisiac cocktail, descrete but unambiguous decoration and lighting will put everyone into the mood. Not really cheap, but worth the investment for a special treat. Bring or order dinner and don't plan anything else for the evening to best enjoy the place. Dance in the dressing room in dim lighting before retiring to a seemingly levitating bed. Stay until checkout time and indulge in a late breakfast in the private living room.

On my first visit to Paris, I stayed here with a friend between 8th - 12th April. After reading the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor, we'd changed our trip dates in order to book a room at The Five Hotel. It's a fabulous little boutique hotel situated in the Latin Quarter. The location was great - only a 5-10 minute metro journey from Paris' main attractions and a couple of minutes' walk from the local metro station (Les Gobelins). Rue Mouffetard is also about a 5 minute walk away.

The room was cosy, very clean and very well equipped - a lot better than we'd expected. As the reviews below suggest, it wasn't huge, but we hadn't travelled to Paris in order to sit around at the hotel all day so it wasn't an issue. It was overlooking some apartment buildings opposite the hotel. The room service was great and the room itself was very modern and cute. The shower had little LED lights, which was a lovely finishing touch. They also provide guests with free (and very fast) wi-fi - a massive bonus.

The huge breakfast selection was incredible and very delicious. I was simply spoilt for choice. Great tea, great coffee and the best freshly squeezed orange juice in France. It was served in the lounge, the 'Love Capsule', a charming seating area with good lighting and chilled out music.

The service we had received from the staff was simply unparallelled. Every single member of staff at reception were as helpful as anything. They all spoke excellent English, were very friendly, helped us book our tours around Paris and recommended excellent places to eat out in. It's worth picking their brains for local knowledge and recommendations. There was a particular member of staff who had made a huge impression on us - a girl called Marie, who I think works the night shift. The service she provides is possibly the best I have ever experienced. She became something of a friend whilst out there, recommending places in terms of night life, lunch, and she even had our taxis ready for us without us having to ask!

I'd highly recommend this hotel for families, couples and friends. On the whole, our stay here was splendid and I will certainly be back on my next visit to Paris. Thank you to The Five, Marie and the rest of the staff for making our stay as comfortable as it was; see you again soon. :)

Room Tip: I stayed in room 502 - it might be one of the smaller rooms, not too sure as I hadn't seen any o...

This little boutique hotel offers couples a great experience at an affordable rate.
Location is in a nice and quiet neighborhood, around 20 minute walk from the river, and 5 minutes from the Metro.
Rooms are small, but comfortable. Very imaginative design includes led lights in the shower walls to make for a starry night experience.
The beds are decorated with flower petals, giving a very nice first impression.
Staff is friendly and speaks English.
Wireless internet was free (including in the room), but the basic rate does not include breakfast, which costs 15EUR.
Also, the room doesn't have mini-bar, but there is one in the reception, which you can use at any time.
We bought our own breakfast to eat in the room, and the staff was happy to provide utensils free of charge.
On the whole, a good experience.

stayed here with my wife in march for 6 nights. first thing i noticed was decor & styling. but when we entered our room it was quite small and had to adjust our bags in very uncomfortably accessible place.
there was not enough room in almirah to put our jackets as the hair dryer was also fixed in it. shower area was also very small and we felt cramped while taking baths(single person at a time..!)
room was nice and clean. service was really excellent and the working staff was highly energetic.
wi-fi was high speed & included in package but breakfast was not. we didn't even try breakfast there.
don't know about other paris hotels in this budget but won't recommend it to anyone who wants to stay for more than 1-2 days.

Booked a fortieth for my husband and two friends to stay in The Five hotel Paris.

Booking hotels for Paris has to be one of the most hardest experiences of all my travelling.

After spending months looking for hotel within a
moderate budget I found the Five. Images on the Internet are bigger than what you expect. Boutique hotels in Paris should say petite as everything is much smaller than standard hotel rooms.

That did not disappoint us as the rooms were amazing small yes but still that bit of luxury all the same. Shower and bathroom lit up before your eyes but very very tiny not fit for two people!

The staff at the hotel were excellent advising on restaurants and metro lines and made us welcome.

The only down side is there are a few restaurants nearby but not of quality as you would expect from one of the most famous cities in the world. Be prepared to travel further for nicer restaurants.

Brilliant cafe near the hotel across a few streets that serve great French breakfasts of croissants and coffee just all you need to start the day.

The hotel is ideally situated for all the sight seeing as the metro station is just up the road.

Use the maps to locate everything and use the metro we had a ball sight seeing and chilling out.

We had wine and baguettes every lunch time and we saw loads of sights for a 3 day trip.

Highly recommend hotel for location and a wee tiny bit of luxury. The merchant Belfast or Galgorm it is not but it has a good location and place to lay your head that isn't of a low standard.

Would stay again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the luxury room and it was nice if you can afford to upgrade I would

My French language skills are poor at best but the young, energetic staff at the 5 spoke so many languages, that I suspect someone actually spoke Klingon. The staff is wonderful. The decor is off the charts fun. Breakfast is great and charming. The rooms are small, typical of many boutique hotels in Paris, and perfect for a short stay. The location is a bit south of the Seine at the bottom of the Latin Quarter but the Metro station is a mere three minute walk. It was only a 30 minute trip from the 5 to Montmartre to visit the Sacre Coeur. There is a lovely shoping and dining area, Mouffetard within a 5 minute walk where we ate great crepes, galletes, cog au vin and stone oven fired pizza. Definitely worth a visit. We loved it.
