“Very simple hotel in good location”
Reviewed July 30, 2011

I've given this hotel 4 stars because it was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and in a great location. Just a short walk from the Gare Montparnasse (where the TGV goes from) and with the metro almost on the doorstep, on a quiet and seemingly safe side street. If you go with no greater expectations than a simple room with a comfy bed you will be perfectly happy - the staff are also kind and accommodating. Our room had a large window that opened and looked on the the street. A nice touch for a bit of fresh air. The rooms are small and the bathrooms minute, but everything was clean which was the main thing.

We only stayed one night and easily walked to a great restaurant for dinner (La Rotonde on Bvd du Montparnasse) and a cafe for breakfast. There are hundreds of creperies around here, the ones with the biggest queue undoubtedly the best!!

Excellent location. Good area with lots of cafes and bars. NOT a "dodgy" area as suggested by one reviewer. Very safe. Just 50yds from Montparnasse Bienvenue metro and a quarter of a mile from Edgar Quinet metro. Small supermarket opposite, Galeries Lafayette at the end of the street.
A very friendly welcome at the hotel. Our room was ready at 13.00hrs so we had a baguette and sat in the Gardens of Luxembourg until then..
Superior room was on 6th floor. Window to courtyard and another to Montparnasse Tower. Clean, bed linen spotless. Rooms not big but nicely decorated. T.V and Coffee/Tea making facilities.
Breakfast buffet style. Included ham, cheese, fresh fruit as well as the usual croissants, cakes etc.
Were impressed when the hotel made sure our New Zealand friends had a room as soon as they arrived at 9am(obviously the hotel was not fully booked that day but even so a nice gesture)
Would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: Superior rooms better equipped.

Room was small, it smells very badly at night (chemical smell coming from the bathroom), I could'nt sleep because of the noise from the elevator and the road + the "charming" view over a big road (looks like a ring, lots of trafic nearly all night!)
Ask for a room the opposite side and far from the elevator.
Anyway you can here people speaking, walls are thin.
I would definitiley never come back there. First night I cried! I had another room the next day, a twin, it was better, yet I booked another hotel for the 2 other nights I had to spend in Paris, " hotel Apollinaire" which was better, small also but more clean, a better standing.
The WIFI connection never worked. First time I'm in a hotel and don't manage to make it work...
This hotel has a good location but that's it. I'm French and I'm a bit ashame we welcome people like that in Paris. It's maybe not the worst... Really it's expensive for what you get. If you can chose another location for a better standing at the same price somewhere else.
Women at the entrance are nice, men are not polite at all, not bringing any help neither.

I thought it was going be very difficult to find a good hotel for a low price, so I was pleasently surprised when I got to the hotel. The rooms were small, but cute and very clean. I only stayed for three nights, so I didn´t care about having a large room. We had a window to the inner courtyard, so we didn´t have any noise at all. We arrived 8am and got a room immediately, so it was nice of them to consider the early check-in request. Receptionist were friendly and smiling, but they could learn a bit more about Paris :) (like restaurants, night clubs etc). Luckily we had our computer with us and there was wifi in the rooms, so we could find out everything we needed by ourselves. The location was perfect - lots of bars, shops and restaurants around. Also the metro was just 50 metres from the hotel, it was extreemly easy to travel from there to all around Paris. I deffinitely recommend this hotel!

We had a 3 night stay in this hotel. It has been refurbished with nice decor, The room was fairly small but well decorated with a balcony. Bathroom good with nice shower. The air conditioning was broken or didnt work very well in our room but we did not complain and opened the door onto the balcony instead. Within a 1 minute walk of the Metro. We booked directly through the hotel and got the same rate as Late Rooms and with the benefit of a continental breakfast each morning. Overall we would recommend this hotel.

As stated in a previous review of the Montparnasse Concorde, we were left hunting for a hotel.

We went to an internet cafe and this hotel happened to be across the road.

In the end, we were here for 4 days, at the hotel rate of €69 per night excluding breakfast. The room was overlooking a road, and we were worried about noise, but it was fine.

The hotel has been recently renovated, the rooms were very clean and the location was perfect next to the Montparnasse Tower, In this areas there are dozens of restaurants and cafes, and the metro station (which has 3 lines running throug it I think) is 50 metres away. There are also a number of cinemas an anywhere from the Arc De Triomphe to Louvre is walkable within 30 minutes. The Jardin De Luxembourg is also very close by.

All in all, we really enjoyed this hotel. It was basic but excellent.
