I had contacted Peet to try and book a room in the B&B only to find that it was fully booked. He informed me that in addition to the B&B, he had a studio apartment in the same building that we could book but did not include breakfast or some of the other amenities. That worked for us since we know that when in Paris, you can find breakfast on any corner and all we really needed was bed, bath, and privacy. The studio apartment provided all that with a view. Definitely was much more than expected in Paris. Large room, adequate bath and toilet, kitchenette (although we only used to make coffee), and couch to sit on. Obviously, the place is in great location with easy access to transportation, food and nightlife. Peet was so gracious and accommodating. We had been traveling for some time and needed to wash a few articles. When we inquired as to use of machine, he actually agreed to wash and fold the clothes and left them in our room. This allowed us to enjoy the city and was greatly appreciated. He also suggested a nearby restaurant called Chez Michel that probably served the best meal I had in France. Reservations are a must although we did get seated without one. We watched as at least 15 groups were told no. A room in Paris greatly exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: the studio apartment was tremendous

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few nights in the spring. This place is incredible value for the money and the owners are great. It is clean and nice, and the room felt like what I imagined for a Paris apartment. Only downside is that some of the rooms share a bathroom.

We are finally getting around to writing our review for A Room in Paris! My husband and I stayed there in June of 2013. It was a nice place, close to the metro. Peet was very accommodating and kind and provided us with a great breakfast in the mornings. The only issue we really ever stumbled in to was having issues with the key/lock for the front door. It seemed to get stuck...which was probably more our issue than anything...but barely something to even mention because it really didn’t take away from the amazing experience we had! We highly recommend A Room in Paris for anyone who is looking for a place to stay! Peet also gave us a lot of helpful directions so that we could find our way around easily! :)

My family of 4 stayed for 3 nights in Peet's lovely B&B. Peet has been such gracious host, it made our stay really warm and memorable.

1. The reservation was easy as Peet was very prompt in replying his emails. We were able to tell him our needs and he would recommend us appropriate rooms. He was also helpful in providing directions, not only to the B&B but also the destinations we were keen to go (e.g. Disneyland etc).

2. The check-in was hassle free and we were given an orientation of the room (we stayed in a separate unit opposite the main house). Peet's assistant also helped us with the laundry (at a token fee) while we were out sightseeing.

3. Peet's flight just landed wee hours in the following morning after we arrived, we were sure he was tired after his long flight, but he still prepared breakfast for us and stayed up to mingle with us.

4. We also met with lovely people from around the world during breakfast. We would exchange some traveling tips and Peet would share info about where we could visit and the directions.

Just like any cities, staying in big hotel establishments may sometimes be cold and formal. We were glad that we chose to stay in a B&B despite some concerns we had initially (e.g. the children may disturb other guests, security at B&Bs may be compromised, curfew set by the host may limit our freedom). The separate unit was ideal for us with children. The security was also tight with a few secured doors (main door, followed by another door at the courtyard, followed by door to unit) accessible by private secure tokens. The door can also be bolted inside.

The location was convenient. There's a convenience store below, market, bakeries, nice restaurants nearby etc. It's also close enough to the train station, but at a less "rowdy" area. We were very pleased with our stay there, especially for the warm hospitality we get.

Room Tip: The separate unit was excellent for families with children, as we didn't have to worry about curfews or that the children would bother the other guests.

Travelling to Paris on my own, this B & B suited my needs down to the ground . Coming in on the Eurostar, it was an easy 5-10 minute walk from the station. The room was clean and comfortable and the shared bathroom was not an issue. Breakfast is fantastic and Pete creates a very convivial atmosphere amongst his guests and is very helpful with advice and information. A great few days.
