“Tiny but clean, nice bathroom and goid beds”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

If you dont mind miniature rooms and only need the room to sleep and take a shower then this is a good hotel stay. We were there for three night and had a room towards the street. Noise did not bother us but we enjoyed the open window with some cool air at night.
You need to be aware that there is a tiny, tiny elevator, so dont show up with a lot of luggage or a large group of people. BreKfast is OK but nothing special. The place is clean and that matters. People at the reception were very friendly and helpfull. If the price is right we would use it again.

Room Tip: Take a room at the lower levelsue to the very small elevator. Ask for the largest possible room.

If you are looking for a conveniently-located hotel offering comfortable and clean rooms, look no further. While rooms are not large, they are well-appointed with everything needed to satisfy a traveller's needs. Breakfast is very nice, with a good selection of items nicely presented. Great coffee selection. Desk staff are friendly and helpful, and their English is excellent.

These and other reasons are why we highly recommend Grand Hotel Dore.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are larger than others, so if you want space, we sure to request it.

4 adults with two double rooms for 4 nights. One with shower opening on to the main avenue and one with bath/shower overlooking rooftops, both on the second floor. Opening windows were appreciated as Paris turned on beautiful weather just for us. Cross at lights at front for the Metro. 3 Supermarkets and some great patisserie very close by. Bargain price by paying up front. Didn't choose to have breakfast as it seemed a little pricey. Tea and coffee facilities and small bar fridge were taken advantage of but eating in the rooms is not allowed. Very small lift as expected. Very clean. Had 4 good nights of sleep. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Lower levels worked for us as we had 2 seniors with us.

The Grand Hotel Dore is an excellent choice for a stay in Paris. It is conveniently located in a leafy suburb, a stones throw from the Metro station which gets you to the centre very quickly. There are several good reasonably priced restaurants nearby our favourite of which was Le Metro just across the road. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our triple room was very clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom. There are tea/coffee facilities and a mini fridge with complimentary water too. Breakfast was included in our rate ( booked through Eurostar ) and consisted of the usual continental fare with a lovely fresh fruit salad and for a change real fruit juice. The breakfast area is tiny but never busy when we ate ( maybe people get breakfast from a café or Patisserie instead ? ). We would definitely recommend the hotel and wold certainly stay there again.

We stayed at the grand hotel dore during the half term February holidays for me and my boyfriend, it was a good location with a subway train station literally a two minute walk away from the hotel, the staff were so friendly and helpful, whenever I needed any direction or advice they were there to help with anything I needed! Very friendly too which is quite rare for Paris I think! The room was quite small but perfectly suitable for us and it was very clean, my boyfriend had a problem sleeping as the bed was quite dipped but the hotel are aware of this and will hopefully get it sorted! There is quite a few cafés and restaurants around the hotel but we didn't spend much time in the area we were in the city most of the time, it was just somewhere to lay our heads! We did have breakfast included in the booking but didn't use it as we wanted to go to cafés and have pastries at all the amazing patisseries, the train from Daumesnil is about 20 mins to opera in the centre, the subway is quite daunting at first but as long as you have a map it's easy and you will get used to it, we bought a 5 day metro pass which accessed all 5 zones of Paris which was €60 each person, it was great and the best thing we bought in Paris as everything is so expensive and this saved us a lot of money for the amount of travelling we did. We visited the moulin rouge while we were there, it was absolutely brilliant and we would recommend it to anyone, it is about €150 each ticket which includes a bottle of champagne to share between two people, lovely champagne in a bucket of ice, it is quite expensive if you are working on a budget but it is well worth it and such a great night, we were both in awe the whole way through it! We went into Bastille afterwards for cocktails at some nice bars. Our last night we discovered Hotel De Ville where a lot of gay bars are situated as well as amazing restaurants, great atmosphere in all of the bars we visited, well worth a night out there. Grand Hotel Dore is well worth booking, I think it would be impossible to not enjoy your stay here and we wish we had if got to stay there longer! Paris is such a big city there is so much to do so make sure you plan your stay as much as you can!

Considering the low price I paid, this hotel was excellent. While small it was in a beautiful safe suburb and had a metro stop literally thirty seconds walk from the door. Travel time to central Paris was about ten minutes. The room was very comfortable, some English news channels on the TV and a good bed/shower. Receptionists were lovely and welcoming and the included breakfast was very nice. I'd strongly recommend this place to anybody wanting a quiet retreat without being too far away from all of the good stuff Paris has to offer.

Excellent hotel in a very convenient area. The staff are friendly, helpful and nice, so I can only presume they aren't French. The hotel is around 15 mins away from Paris on the metro. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone and look forward to returning.
