Love the Ile and the Ile St. Louis next to it! My favorite thing to do in Paris is walk in between the two islands and there are always musicians and people. It is a wonderful place to be in front of Notre Dame at dusk!

Had a beautiful clear fall day. it was quite crowded as to be expected on a Sunday afternoon but still relaxing and just a fun way to start your Paris adventure.

Enjoy by walking and getting there early - look at the green Michelin guide for a great walking tour - also so nice to view the left bank from the island and appreciate the great apartments along the river looking back at the island. The quai are a great approach as well. Don't miss Ste Chapelle and the conciergerie as well as Notre Dame...

That island is the place where Paris was born. That fact alone is enough to find it interesting. Some great bridges crossing Ile de la Cite, and Notre-Dame,Saint Chapelle and Conciergerie are there. There is flower market close to Notre-Dame,there are some nice cafes ,shops and restaurants, and a lot of turists that make Ile de la cite always lively.
Paris was the most important city in a good part of human history, many revolutions started there and spread across Europe and the world,so many great men lived there, and if that has any meaning to you,you will appreciate the oldest part of that great city.
We enjoyed spending our time on that island, surrounded by Seine, romance and memories.
