We have just returned from a 2 night short break in Paris, we booked with the Le Relais Montmartre, as friends were staying in Montmartre at The Mercure Ibis.
I have a holiday accommodation in the UK, and I am very particular about cleanliness. I would have liked a four star hotel but Paris is truely expensive at the moment.
This hotel is exactly as the promotional material states, both in writing and the photos. Rue Constance is like a little oasis in Paris, it is not rough at all, if you want rougher just walk for 5 minutes down to the Moulin Rouge!
On arrival there is a staff member on reception, they were always friendly, the reception area is like a lovely lounge, with fresh roses, beautiful fabric and furniture, there is free internet and wifi. There is a lift or stairs, the rooms are very clean (slightly strong smell of air fresher) the bedding is spotless, i would not have a problem recommending this hotel to anyone. Its lovely. There is no pool or spa etc as its a smaller style boutique hotel, but it gives all we needed.
Excellent location for everything in Montmartre, we recommend walking up to the little Vineyard (see map) .
Overview - great hotel, definately book it!

A hotel that combines charm and traditonal French style with modern facilties such as air-conditioning. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated and well-kept. The location is ideal: off the rue Lepic, busy with visitors and local residents and an easy walk from buses, the Metro and the well-known sites of Pigalle and Montmartre. Despite this, the hotel is quiet - particularly those rooms overlooking the internal courtyard. There is a pleasant lounge area on the ground floor, part of it outside. Reception is staffed 24 hours and English is spoken by the friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is available, but there is no pressure to take it.

Four of us were looking for a hotel for our two day trip to Paris. We chose Montmartre as it is a little bit away from the main city and tourist attractions but near Sacre Coeur. We arrived in the late afternoon feeling quite tired, so when we got off the Metro at Blanche in Boulevard de Clichy, right in the heart of the red light district, we wondered if we had made the right decision. However we walked along Rue Leipc and up the little side street where the Relais Montmartre is situated and felt a little better as once round the corner, it is a completely different world. When we got inside the hotel we realised it was a little gem. There is a beautifully decorated front lobby/lounge area and a small courtyard with seating outside. Our two rooms were quite small but perfectly formed with lovely fresh and tasteful decor, comfortable beds and superb shower rooms that had shaver points and hairdryers. We had chosen the 'cheapest' rooms in the hotel but got a peek at one of the larger rooms which looked quite a lot more spacious and equally as nice as ours. The only gripe perhaps was the price but then you pay for what you get. The staff we very friendly and accommodating, spoke good English and helped us sort out the right bus into the centre of the city. Going on the bus is a much better option than the metro. It's more pleasant generally and you get to see some sights along the way.
Rue des Abbesses, just up the road from the hotel has countless bars, interesting shops and restaurants. We had a lot of fun walking up and down, browsing in the shops and stopping for coffee or a beer etc. It's far enough away from the Sacre Coeur area so you don't feel too crowded out by other tourists (go to Place du Tertre to have a look but don't stay too long). Everywhere we went we got a friendly welcome and we enjoyed a very nice lunch at 'A La Pomponette' in Rue Lepic.
If you don't want to got too far afield to experience a French style Brasserie, try Brasserie Wepler, a five minute walk away on the very busy Place de Clichy, especially if you love seafood.

What a lovely, charming hotel in a great area. Staff were polite and friendly and very helpful. Had a gorgeous room. Quiet too! Steps away from metro but lovely stroll into Montmartre. Highly recommended.

What a great find! We've had some nightmare experiences before (namely a 3 star hotel in Amsterdam actually turning out to be a 1 star hotel), so we were a little hesitant about whether the pictures and info would be accurate. But it was better than advertised!

Quaint, comfortable and clean rooms. Newly renovated bathrooms that were a real pleasure. Very friendly staff (especially Victor, who let us change rooms to the back of the building after the city started doing work on the street outside the front, and gave us great recommendations for places to eat). The only downside of this place is that it doesn't have much of a view, but it's so comfortable, who cares!

If you eat in the area, stick to the places on Rue des Abbesses (about a block away). Most of the places around Place de Thetre are pretty touristy and bland. It was great advice we should have stuck closer to!

Small hotel with small rooms, but that's probably quite common if you want to live in Montmartre. This area is a good location with short distance to Sacre-Coeur, Moulin Rouge and a lot of small restaurants. The rest of the city is easy accessible by metro. Friendly staff and good service. Newly redecorated rooms and bathrooms, which are nice and clean.

We were very pleased with our stay here. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. Our room was clean, quiet, and roomy enough for two. We did have breakfast downstairs one day. It was a bit expensive, but very convenient and everything was delicious. The only downside is that you are somewhat far from the major tourist attractions. The metro station is only a few blocks down the street however and there are several restaurants close by.
