This hotel, formerly Concorde Lafayette stands in a very convenient location for a combined business/tourism trip
Rooms are comfortably clean and have the essential for a short trip.
Several good neighbor restaurants assure a good dinner near one's lodging specially after a busy day.

We arrived in Paris from a whirlwind trip in Germany and this was to be the end of a fantastic three week trip in Europe. After reading some reviews here on tripadvisor, we were already aware that this hotel was outdated and it was supposed to undergo repairs to bring it up to snuff with Hyatt standards. But we didn't expect it to be this deplorable.

Now I have stayed at properties before that Hyatt just purchased and usually within a month of buying a new property, they at least try to do the little things to make it seem like a Hyatt hotel.

Not this location.

But first, the good.

The service is definitely up to Hyatt standards and everyone was friendly. Everyone treated us with respect plus they were always willing to accommodate.

The Concierges were all helpful where needed and provided us with excellent advice! They did insist that we did not need to make a taxi reservation for the morning that we were to depart to the airport (they were right, at 5:45am on a Saturday, there were taxis out front and we boarded one without delay) and they were accurate with the approximate cost of the ride to the airport as well (60 - 70 euro).

We stayed in a corner room on the 28th floor and our view of the Eiffel Tower was amazing! It has to be, hands down, the BEST view from a hotel room that you will get in all of Paris. You will love this view!

You could see the Arc de Triomphe... Way in the distance you could see Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris all the way to the Eiffel. Looking at the city below was spectacular! It was especially gorgeous at night when the tower would sparkle.

But unfortunately thats the best this hotel has to offer. A view.

When we checked in, it was around 2pm. They had 2 people working at the front desk. I am a Platinum Hyatt Passport member so we stood in the expedited line that they provide for it's members.

We stood there for at least 20 minutes before someone waved us over to check us in. Sure, there were apologies made about the wait from the 2 ladies working the front desk, but over that period of time, a big line formed behind us as well as in the standard line for check in. I am surprised that this Hyatt couldn't employ more than 2 people to assist with check-in! Those poor people behind us probably had to wait 40 minutes or so to check in!

You'll be able to tell right away that the lobby is outdated but the lobby is the most glamorous part of the hotel. So don't be fooled.

And as other reviewers have mentioned, the wifi is absolutely spotty. So please be patient.

Now the room.

As I mentioned before, it is all about the little things. When we walked into the bathroom, the towels were ripped and thin. Seriously. A Hyatt provides its guests with thin and ripped towels!

AND there was mildew, yes mildew, on the shower curtain. At a Hyatt. And the mildew stayed on that shower curtain throughout the entire stay.

Each morning, the maid service would take the used (worn & ripped) towels and they would NOT replace them. So it became a daily ritual where we would have to contact the maid service upon our return to our room and we would have them bring us up fresh towels (because there were none left).

Yes. Each and every day. No exaggeration.

The room had an updated electronic safe in the closet but this Hyatt property also left an old unusable safe in a separate cabinet that could have easily been removed to afford additional space to it's customers who are already tolerating an extreme tiny room, even by European standards.

And boy is this room small. We had to do some overhead lifting of the luggage to get it into the room. And mind you, the room we had was an UPGRADED CORNER room. I would hate to see what a standard room looks like!

Now the bed was very comfortable but the carpet was frayed, cracks in the walls, paint chips, pictures hanging diagonally (we tried to set it correctly but the painting refused to hang properly) etc...

It's as if the Hyatt bought an old run down building, slapped the name Hyatt on it, and opened it up for business before providing any repairs whatsoever.

I mean, is it too much to ask to at least provide towels & amenities that are up to Hyatt standards? What about proper linens for the bed?

Every other Hyatt that just purchased a new property automatically stocks it's rooms with the little things to make it more aligned with its name brand.

Not here.

The room itself absolutely resembles a worn down seedy Motel 6 room. And that may be borderline offensive to Motel 6.

All in all, I have to admit, the main reason we chose this hotel over the other Hyatts in Paris is because my wife insisted on an Eiffel Tower view. We knew about the downside as I mentioned before, and we knew that it was a new property and a bit worn, but this so called Hyatt is worse than that.

If you are reading these reviews and you're thinking like we did that "there is no way that a room at a Hyatt can be that bad", you'll be wrong. It is.

During the course of our 5 day stay, every time we came back to the hotel, we held our collective breaths and we tried to look on the bright side of the hotel... The view.

That was our mantra! Grab a bottle of wine from a "Nicolas", close our eyes while walking through the strip club-esque hallways, open the room door, and look at that VIEW!

It is magnificent!

Room Tip: Stay at another Hyatt unless you must have that spectacular Eiffel Tower view. But be warned!

I can not believe that this hotel called Hyatt! Room state was horrible, dirty, amenities very poor. You need to use your card even to go to the toilet in the lobby. Thank god for the staff who were very welcoming, but that's not enough sometimes when you stay in such named hotels. Very disappointed and will never go back there.

We were a family of nine including four children ages 8, 8, 10, and 13. This is the surprise hotel we ended up with after booking a deal online. After reading the TripAdvisor reviews, we were all a bit worried. We contacted the hotel immediately to request non-smoking and renovated rooms. Because of the number of travelers, they accommodated us with three rooms (each room containing a double bed and a rollaway cot). They could guarantee non-smoking but said the renovated rooms would not fit a cot.

If driving, we found a great garage within walking distance from the hotel. This garage was half the price we would of paid had we parked at the hotel garage (we also had two cars). It was a bit nerve racking driving into Paris and navigating the "free-for-all" roundabouts, but we had peace of mind once we were parked safely in the garage. The garage is called Parking Maillot Gouvion booked through Neoparking.

The location of this hotel is VERY convenient. Attached to a nice mall, you can walk straight from the bottom floor of the hotel into the mall and head downstairs to the M1. If you want to catch a quick bite to eat and coffee in the morning, check out Paul's Bakery (located in the mall). We did this each morning with the exception of our last. We decided to enjoy the sit down buffet breakfast at the hotel - offered at half-price before 7:30 (plus, kids eat free). It was huge, had nice seating, the selection great, the service friendly, and a great deal at half-price. We paid outside the breakfast room the morning of and did not have reservations.

Check-in went well (have ALL passports ready to present). The lobby is lovely. They accommodated us with three rooms next to each other (12th floor), each with a view of the Eiffel Tower. The cots were brought up that evening while we were at dinner.

The rooms were fine. Yes, it's outdated (kind of retro though). As expected, and seen in other posts, there were a few bleach spots on the floor and a few scratches on the headboard. However, it wasn't THAT bad. It was clean, we felt comfortable, the bedding was nice (Hyatt standards), and the bathroom nice. We really couldn't complain given the location, price we paid for this location in Paris, and view. Our mornings were early, our evenings late and for the three nights we needed a place to sleep, this was perfect!! Again, it's not that bad.

We did not check out the bar and we did not use the fitness center. Free Wi-fi worked great!

Happy travels!

The room was in poor outdated condition. Tears in the carpet, drapes that wouldn't close, not even 1 picture on the wall. This was disappointing for being our first trip to Paris. The location was decent and the staff was wonderful. The metro is located in the mall that connects to the hotel. The hotel bar located on the 37th floor was amazing. The view was incredible of the eiffel tower. Re think this hotel and look for a place located on St. Germaine St. which is absolutely fabulous.

Room Tip: the rooms are very tiny and are not nice at all

My room had a great view of the Eiffel Tower that would have been of greater value if I hadn't traveled to Paris solo :)

The lobby reminded me of hotels in Vegas (big and busy). However, the best feature of the hotel was the bar (Bar La Vue) at one of the top floors of the hotel. It has a great view of the Eiffel Tower and I recommend it to any couple visiting Paris.

I stayed at the Hyatt hotel in January as a surprise present from my partner for my 21st birthday. We were there for a total of 3 nights and four days and loved every minute of it! We were given an upgraded room, although the room appeared standard the upgrade was so we had a view of the tower! Which was so amazing! We could see the tower just from lying in our beds & I am a lover of a good view so I appreciated this a lot! Room and bathroom were clean, nice large bed, wifi & very hot water in the bathroom (another thing I appreciate!)

Shops are within walking distance, the hotel itself has a shopping centre right behind it, all you have to do is walk through the hotel! The metro is also in this area too, so was easy to get to places we wanted to see. Staff were extremely helpful explaining anything we wanted to know too so we never struggled to find anything. They also provided us with a map of the area so we could find things easier.

On the very top floor they have a fabulous bar and beautiful seating area which overlooks everything & offers a spectacular view of the tower. The atmosphere in there is just great, great music in the evening but peaceful in the day. We went up several times during the day and once at night as the atmosphere is just great! Cannot fault the service however the drinks are ridiculously overpriced!

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the hotel & I would love to return in the future.
