“bit disappointed”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

stayed here on business and arrived with 70 customers. Hotel was forewarned and we should have had separate check-in BUT we didn't and it was a real farce getting everyone individually checked in. Found the only helpful person on reception (who happened to be from Huddersfield) who tried her best but it was still not great. Room disappointing with aircon way too hot and unable to turn it down or even off! Shower either scalded or froze you? didn't have dinner but breakfast on the mezzanine was a real bunfight and I always find that queuing to get in the breakfast room is unacceptable. a colleague sat on a chair and the leg broke, no action by the staff and no apologies. Left a business card for manager to call us but no contact? only decent thing was running around Paris early morning when nobody was about taking in the sights! Won't rush to go back but believe that the Qataris have bought the place so they should smarten it up hopefully. And quite expensive!

Room Tip: get one with aircon that works!

It is time for an update, and like the card they give you with your key says it is coming. Our room was on the 31st floor and had great views. Unfortunately the television and air conditioning worked sporadically. They came and fixed the air conditioning, but it stopped working again the next day, so we just opened the window, which worked well enough. The club level room was very nice and we enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and the drinks and appetizers at night. I would warn people that the bar on the top floor has a wonderful view, but that a mojito is 25 euros. Understand that if you go there for a drink you are paying for the beautiful view, not the drink.

This is a very nice hotel. I have booked a room with a view over the Eiffel tower and Paris down town. Excellent view. The hotel is clean and it looks as a 5 star hotel outside and inside. However it is a 5 star hotel from 70's or 80's. It would be a right place for James Bond movie with Roger Moor. Everything reminds about chic of 80's starting from old fashioned bed, aluminum windows, that can be opened only in one dimension for 10 cm, water taps. Thanks God they changed TV sets for flat screen TV. Breakfast was quite good but modest and it would fit to those who decides to put out some weight during the trip. There will not be too many things to seduce you. The only really hopeless thing was the water in the bathroom. There was not a chance to set up a temperature even in a long run. And I mean it. I have a 1 year old boy, who's bottom needs to be washed regularly. I gave up several times forced to use wet tissues. And it was almost impossible to take a shower. I felt myself as a participant of candid camera show. Every time I set a water and started to wash it turned to be either ice cold or boiling hot and I was forced to jump out of the bath. There is a good restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food and everybody who worked at reception were friendly and quite caring.

Room Tip: Take the one with a view over the Eiffel Tower

I read a few reviews on this hotel before booking and found them very mixed. We arrived late and we're welcomed by very attentive staff they were very helpful booking us in quickly and showing us somewhere we could get something to eat. That was the last time we had to deal with the staff everything went well for the rest of our stay so we no more contact with them until we left and again they were very good.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who was going to Paris for a break there are shop joined to the hotel if you like shopping and you do not have to walk far if you want to see the sights. It took us 30 mins to walk to the tower and 15 mins to the arch. When you get to the tower you can jump onto water taxis to take you to other sights. We will be going back to Paris next year and will be staying at the Head again.
One final thing is that we were given a card with our room key saying that there was to be building work in the hotel during 2014 and 2015 so beware when booking you may want to ask were about it when booking your room.

I was in Paris on a business trip and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. The hotel location is good but the staff and service is atrocious. At checkin I was given a room with two single beds when I wanted a king size bed. I was promised that the staff will come in 10 mins and change the bed. However even after waiting half hour no one turned up and I had to follow up twice on the phone to get the staff to turn up. All they did was join the beds and put a double bed sheet on top. So much so for changing the bed. Next day I ordered a bottle of water. Another half hour wait and no one turned up. I followed up on room service and was told that they had orders before me which is why the water was delayed. I asked them don't they have different staff to serve multiple room service orders. To my utter surprise I was told they have only one person for room service. Shocking. The breakfast is same everyday and so very monotonous. An utterly avoidable hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to write a comment about our property on Tripadvisor.

It was a pleasure to read every word, especially your comment that the “staff is friendly and service as expected.”

At the same time, we would like to sincerely apologise for your unpleasant experience with the access to the mezzanine as we do have an elevator access in the lobby level. Your constructive comments have provided us guidance on where we need to focus our service improvement initiatives.

Concerning the rooms, the hotel will be undergoing renovation work later this year, in order to offer a unique experience to our guests.
