I only stayed at the Libertel St Martin for one night in September. Rooms are rather on the smaller size and so is the bathroom but they are neat, have double glazing and A/C which I really appreciated as it was exceptionnally hot The location is great, a minute away from the Metro station Jaures which is easyly accessible if travelling from/to Gare du Nord and the canal banks are very close too. The service was very good.

We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting Paris in mid August 2012. We had researched long and hard beforehand so we had a good idea of what we had booked. Upon arrival we were greeted by some of the best and most relaxed service while we were in Europe (from 1 young man in particular, quite the comedian!). The room was clean and quite small (but we knew this before arrival) but the bathroom was very small. The decor was quite dated and not quite how the photos looked, but that's always the case. The only downer was the lack of an AC, which in mid August, was rough, but we did however have a fan. The location was great, literally next to the 'Juares' line. It's only a few stops from most things, or at most, only one change away. There are a few supermarkets close by for vital supplies, and lots of decent bars and restaurants round the corner. For what we paid, it was decent.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and we enjoyed it. From reading some of the other reviews one may get a poor impression of the hotel however I was happy with what I paid for. We stayed in room 1702 and I have no complaints with the size of the room, however the bathroom was very small. When in the shower you can just about turn around. The room and bathroom overall were very very clean. On one of the days the maid made the bed however did not change the linen or empty the bin.

I would stay here again as the cost is decent compared to a lot of Parisian hotels and the location is great my only qualm is the staff aren't very helpful at times. After a night out we returned to the hotel to find a sign saying be back in 5 minutes suggesting the staff member on duty had popped out. We waited about 10 minutes outside with another couple before he returned to open the door , with no apology or explanation as to where he had been.

It's a nice hotel with a central location - you just have to walk two minutes from Metro station "Jaurès".
The room was clean and a bit small, but that was no problem for three nights. The bed was cuddly, but sometimes when we opened the window at night, we heard the air con that is located in the courtyard.
The check in and check out were no problem and for this price, we can recommend a stay in this hotel.

The room was basic and quite cramped but it was cleaned daily and the staff were pleasant. We stayed for only a long weekend so it was perfect for us as we were rarely in the hotel, only using it to sleep and wash.

It is very close to the Metro at Juares which is ideal, it is also close to a small supermarket and a few nice bakeries.

There was only one hairdryer that was kept at the main desk at all times for the hotel which was a drawback, so if you are thinking of staying then pack your own! The other drawback was that our double room was just two single beds pushed together which wasn't especially comfortable.

The free WiFi was a nice touch and it was surprisingly quick.

The one good thing about this hotel is that it is close to the metro and some pretty decent bakeries......that is where the positives end.

The staff- moody and extremely unhelpful (unless,of course, you are French)

The rooms- so small, dirty walls and carpet, terrible odor. The bathrooms are so tiny you can barely move. Our shower did not drain at all......disgusting. Almost laughable looking at there website photos.......they clearly hired an amazing photographer.

Room phones- NEVER worked, even though we gave our credit card to activate them......the staff at the front desk suggested we go down the street to use the payphone......really??!!??

This is an economical hotel but don't expect much in the way of service or basic cleanliness and DO NOT give the hotel photos on their website much weight.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Hotel's 69 rooms, entirely renovated and air-conditioned, are contained in 3 small typical Parisian buildings joined by a courtyard and a garden. The largest building has 38 rooms overlooking the main street. Some, named "Paris Comfort" offers a balcony with stunning views of the Butte Montmartre and the Sacre-Coeur. The 25 rooms of the second building, called "Privilege" as is peacefully located in the yard and garden. Warm tones married to white duvets give their charm and intimacy. The 6 remaining rooms, named "Villa Cosi", renovated in warm colors are located in a charming town house, surprisingly quiet for the middle of Paris. The approach of our architects was to rethink the rooms as comfortable cocoons using a rational and highly practical layout to make all the services immediately accessible along the walls. The choice of materials and subtly contemporary colours give a chic touch of elegance and design to the decor. The comfort and modernity are enhanced by the presence of large flat screen television with TNT and satellite, new bedding with quilt instead of the traditional bedspreads. ... more   less
