We stayed in this hotel 3 nights while being in Paris in August. We are family of 4 and it was very hard to get a room for our family at reasonable price. Hotel d'Argenson delivered, they accomodated us with a great price 110 euro/night. The location is really amazing you can get everywhere on foot, there are also 2 metro stations very close. Two gentelmens at the reception were really nice and helpful, and breakfast in the room was great.
We really liked our balcony, room overall was clean, the only downside was dirty carpet in the room. Some people were complainng about a/c; we were just leaving windows open and had no problems in August heat.
There is computer for the guests use on the first floor...kids were very happy about it.
We would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in great location for a reasonable price...

I've been sending clients to the Argenson as part of Spyns Tour de France tours for years and their reviews have always been positive. So when I decided to bring my family to Paris as part of a 2013 Tour de France pre-trip, I didn't hesitate to stay here. Starting with the positives, there is no better deal in Paris as far as hotel rates are concerned. Getting a room for less than US$150/night in Paris is virtually impossible but the Argenson has not only rooms in this price range but with breakfast included. Room size would be my next positive comment. Most Paris hotel rooms are the size of postage stamps so the large, spacious rooms at the Argenson and huge bathrooms are a welcome change. Readers should note that you have to specify if you want a bath, shower, or shared bathroom. We requested a family room (3 beds) and got a huge room + bathroom. Two more positives are location and service. The hotel is just 2 blocks from the nearest subway/metro station (Miromensnil) and about 6 blocks from the Champs Elysees. It's also located in the swanky 8th arrondissment so you're not too far from the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, and Place de la Concorde. Service was friendly and professional as always and they've added a new touch with in-room breakfast service. Now that I've covered some positives, here are some drawbacks I'll be telling Spyns 2013 Tour de France clients. The first is noise. The hotel is directly above a subway line so starting 5 a.m., the entire building shakes every 2-3 minutes with the passage of trains. So if you are a light sleeper, stay on the 3rd floor or higher. The second drawback is a general comment that this hotel is a bit like staying at grandma's house. It's needs a bit of a paint job, fawcets leak a bit, and the beds are a bit lumpy so if you love modern hotels, I'd probably stay elsewhere. So I'll recommend the Argenson to Spyns clients staying a few days in Paris before or after their Spyns Tour de France tour. It's the best deal in Paris as far as location and service are concerned and I'll be back again next year to pre-plan our TDF tours.

Room Tip: Request a room with bath (rather than shower) as you'll likely get a bigger room and stay on upp...

Hotel is small and neat, as shown by the elevator, however for the price paid this hotel offered us everything we required for our trip, clean, breakfast and a hot shower. Delivering breakfast to the room at a time which suits the guest was a nice touch. Staff were very helpful good English skills. Hotel was 40 min walk to Notre Dame which flys past as there is so much character to the area on the way there. If your looking for a homely feel to a hotel not overpriced and not trying to be something it isn't, close to metro rail and within walking distance to many sites this has to be considered

Stayed here in October 2011 with my boyfriend for a weekend. Fantastic location, right around the corner from the metro stop, but we were able to walk to most of the sites from our hotel. Clean, comfortable, a good price. The staff was very helpful and was able to recommend some good local restaurants. Great place for the traveler on a budget.

If your going to Paris you are not gonna spend your time looking the 4 walls of your hotel room. This Hotel is centrally located, perfect for touring the city - sleep by night tour by day. Breakfast is a choice of juice and hot beverage, and a pastry. The hotel is located above a Patisserie, the aroma in the mornings is just captivating. There is no resturant or bar in this hotel, so dont stay of thats what your looking for. If your looking the ideal place to sleep and store you luggage then this place is for you - Stayed here on two separate occasions September 2007 and September 2010 and would stay here again if im lucky enough to have another trip to Paris.

I had two people who didn't know each other recommend this hotel to me, when they heard I was going to Paris. That seemed like a good sign, so we booked.

The hotel is in an excellent location, and it walking distance to most sights (very close to Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, the Opera house), and very close to two Metro stations. It's also about 1km away from the express bus to/from the airport, which comes in very handy. There are also plenty of Velib stations around. The streets surrounding are very quiet at night, so you don't have any issues getting to sleep (though the windows didn't let in a lot of noise either). The down side of that, is that you do have to go a bit of a ways to find a restaurant.

Rooms were clean and everything worked properly. We had a superior double without a tub, but the shower stall was just fine, and of a good size. Our room (24) faced Boulevard Haussmann, and the view was actually very pretty. Room was large with high ceilings, and original-looking details which is exactly what I wanted out of a Paris hotel. I did not want some cookie cutter American chain. Beds were comfortable, but they had weird pillows. This is a tiny nitpick. No issues with temperature, though we were there in Oct with no need for A/C.

Because they do not have a restaurant, they bring you breakfast & choice of hot beverage to your room everyday at a time of your choosing (it's just a baguette & croissant, but they are delicious). This is really nice!

The only caution, is that they close & lock the front door at 1am and it's a bit of a pain as you have to ask for a key if you are going to be out very late. Since we are not clubbing people while on vacation (and walking around tired us out early) this was absolutely no problem for us.

Overall, we were very happy with this hotel. The walls are thin, and there is a tiny elevator (we used the stairs exclusively), but these are small things. I would definitely return!

Room Tip: Pay the extra €10 a night and move up to a better room. Totally worth it.
