“Great room, price and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Excellent location, just 2 blocks from Place Saint Michel, Ile de La Cite and 1 block from the subway.
The room was small, just like any hotel in Paris, but renovated, comfortable and very clean. We stayed at the back room, which I prefer, because it is very quiet.
The price was the best that we could find for the quality and location of the hotel.
Good breakfast and staff.
The bad: Doesn't take reservations in advance (2 moths or so)

My wife and i stayed in the Diana for the tour de France bike race weekend. The hotel has vey easy access from CDG airport by RER, and is a straight walk up Rue St Jacques from Notre Dame. We had a front facing room overlooking the street far below {our choice} although noisy in the day with windows open, very quiet at night with two sets of double glazed and curtains drawn, the air con was welcome as the temperature was way up in mid 30's for our stay. The bathroom was very clean and compact, smallish bedroom with a safe, a flat screen HD TV, and a fridge(not working) a small kettle in the bottom of wardrobe though no coffee or tea left for us. The breakfast was hit and miss, at 9.30 most of the pastries, cheeses, bread for toast had gone, when i asked for more coffee, i was told the machine was switched off, so in effect we walked up rue St Jacques for the remaining days and ate at a creperie facing the Pantheon.
Would i stay here again ? certainly would, the location is very good, with easy walking to the river seine, or over into the latin qtr, or if you choose, up Rue st Jacques to the little outdoor market at Rue Mouffetard, then a long walk to Port Royal and Montparnasse, up the tower, then bus back to the hotel, nice day out with very little cost involved.

My wife and I stayed there one night on a layover in Paris. Arrived at the airport at 7:30 at night. Had to be at the airport the next day by 10:30 am. We took the train from the airport and checked in at the Hotel Diana about 8:30 pm. We then ran around Paris until about 12:30 am. Had breakfast the next morning and then off to the airport (the hotel has a breakfast for an additional fee; we chose to have the classic French breakfast at a sidewalk cafe). The hotel was great for this quick stay in Paris because it is just a few blocks from the Notre Dame train station. The hotel is clean and nice. The guy at the desk was very friendly and helpful! The room was small but clean and nice. We loved our stay and would recommend it.

Perfect location, can walk and see this beautiful part of Paris.Comfortable and very clean accommodation, friendly staff and great location at a very reasonable price. Room is small, but you do not come to Paris to sit in your room!. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Location of the hotel is most important, so you can walk out of the hotel and already have access to...

Great location! Easy walk from the St Michel station. 2 blocks up from Notre Dame, which is where you can get on the Hop On/Hop Off bus and boat. As long as you are polite and say Bonjour and Merci, this area of town (the Latin Quarter) most everyone will speak English.
Very close to Notre Dame, St Chapelle, Conciergerie, Pantheon, Musee Cluny/Modern Age, Luxembourg Gardens etc. Plus the train to Versailles goes from the St Michel station so that's easy!

The staff was great - a family, I think. The breakfast was wonderful - fresh croissants to die for, the fresh cut fruit was different every morning - we strongly recommend having their breakfast! Just be sure to let them know the day before you're coming for breakfast! It's good, they don't want to waist, so they make enough for who's coming!

It says it's a 2 star, but I'd say it's a 3 star. To save money, we had the room facing the back. It faced into a small, clean courtyard, with rooms on the other side. Our room was small, but up to date, clean, big bathroom, and had a fridge and air conditioning. It was hot so the air conditioning was the best part! and the fridge was a bonus! The price was excellent for what we had. I'd stay here again for sure, and may even pay a little more for a bigger, maybe front facing room. And they do have a small lift/elevator.

Wi-Fi worked great! Tried once to turn the TV on but it didn't work, but it was probably just us being technically handicap.

If you shop at the little grocery store a few doors down, be sure to watch your change!

What more can one say? Ok I'll add a bit. Excellent location. Clean, comfortable, helpful staff. If you can get in, you are indeed lucky travellers.

We had a quiet room at the back which had no view but windows that opened onto a little courtyard.

This was my second stay.

In June I stayed for 6 nights on my own, then 3 nights with my adult daughter in a twin room (number 11) overlooking the small central courtyard, a very quiet location.

I like this hotel for the comfortable and very clean accommodation, friendly staff and great location at a very reasonable price.

The guests are a mix of French and foreigners. The atmosphere is friendly and I had the chance to practise my French with other visitors at breakfast and with the staff.

The location is great. An easy ride on the RER from CDG airport. This time I used the buses a lot.You see more and there are few tourists. There are many bus routes passing along nearby Rue des Ecoles, Boulevard Saint Michel and Boulevard Saint Germain. I walked to the Eiffel Tower (and caught the bus back).Luxembourg gardens and Notre Dame are very close by.

Thank you again to Madame Cheval and all her staff.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the central courtyard are very quiet.
