Wonderful design hotel in an old bakery. Great location in 'le marais' with a unbelievably authentic (and delicious) restaurant, chez nenesse, just across the street. Every room is uniquely and surprisingly decorated by lacroix. And for the ladies great shopping just around the corner (also on Sundays).

the restaurant rating is for the excellent (continental) breakfast. enjoy.

Fantastic little boutique hotel in Marais. On quiet streets but very close to lots of great shopping, restaurants, etc. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly (and spoke good english). Aesthetically the hotel is fantastic, but as is common with lots of european hotels (and paris in particular), the rooms can be on the smaller side. We opened up our windows which overlooked the parisian street - it was beautiful.

A great option though if you're looking for a good location that feels a bit more 'local', is close to everything, has cute shops and restaurants nearby, and you don't want to shop on the Champs Elysees...a good aesthetic option for the $$.

We stayed here over New Year in an executive room and I loved this place. I've been trying for a while to get a booking here when in Paris but always left it too late as there are only 17 rooms so it's constantly fully booked.
The reception was friendly and helpful and you believed that if you did need anything they would do their best to help. We rang down for a dinner reservation on the first evening and it was sorted with no fuss and an ironing board and iron was available immediately. We were also invited down to the bar for a glass of champagne on New Years Eve.
The room was very spacious for a Marais hotel with a large bathroom and dressing area and seating. The toiletries were Hermes and the decor of the rooms was a wonderfully abstract change from your standard hotel room with fabric wallcoverings and stars and planets motif.
Only downside was there was no stand up shower in the bathroom which was a little inconvenient and it can be a little noisy if your room looks onto the street, but you can't complain about that if you want to stay in a historical building (it used to be the bakery visited by Victor Hugo) in bustly Marais
Overall we had a great trip.

We went to Paris for my 40th birthday and I researched everything for, I don't know how long, in advance. I shortlisted a few hotels (It had to be perfect!) and I can say that I was delighted with our choice. From the moment we walked in I knew this was the one, the building is very nice, old and wonderful, our room.... great. Bright pink reception/seating area, black and white bedroom, very, very smart bathroom, standing bath, Hermes toiletries, brilliant!!!!!! We've been to Paris a few times and never been happy with the size of the rooms, tiny spaces, this room was great and the hotel a wonderful discovery. The location is just perfect. So close to so many restaurants and bars, lovely boutiques, nothing is too far, nearest metro is a 2 minute walk. The lady at the reception was SO helpful with places to go and visit, she booked us a restaurant for Saturday night. The whole weekend was a perfect birthday weekend and this hotel was a massive part of it. So Thank you for making my birthday so special. I did feel like a princess in Paris!

A cosy little hotel with only 17 rooms in the middle of the Marais. From here it is only a few steps to the Rue des Archives and the Rue du Vieille Temple - the Marché des Enfants rouges is just around the corner. My Executive room was spacious (in comparison to other Parisian hotels), the bath room as well, boudoir style, great mix of colourful wallpapers and carpets - typicially fashion designer Christian Lacroix. The entrance of this little gem is an old bakery, where Victor Hugo is said to have bought his bread. The receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful - thanks a million for making my stay a comfortable one.
Two little cons: Would not recommend a room next to the elevator, because of the constant noises and putting on make-up in the bathroom is definitely impossible due to the lighting system (shadows in your faces do not allow you to know if you leave the hotel like a clown), but this is a problem that I come across in so many hotels. They all must have been men made ;-) I would for sure stay again at this lovely hotel.

My husband and I stayed here on 3 & 4 November 2011 on part of our European road trip.

It's a great hotel, in a fabulous part of Paris (Marais District). The staff are wonderful, very friendly and knowledgeable, especially on reception. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their recommendations were great.

The decor is immaculate, very stylish and beautifully maintained, check out some of the carpets! Our room overlooked the road but was incredibly quiet.

My only small gripe was that the light in the bedroom and bathroom was a little dark, so much so, I couldn't really put my make-up on properly which is quite a scary propsect for the Parisian public!

They also don't provide tea and coffee facilities in the room, which is a bit of a shame. Would be nice if we didn't have to get dressed before room service arrived.

However, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and would stay here again when in Paris. It really is a very nice comfortable hotel and gets ten out of ten from us.

We wanted to be in the Marais, a neighborhood we had reason to explore. And we needed a hotel with an elevator. The location was great. The price impressive. The service was really very nice. Terrific if expensive continental breakfast at $15 euros a pop. All service was lovely except for the one desk who seem annoyed/flustered by our arrival. And replied when we discussed the lack of A/C during a surprisingly balmy Parisian November week, told me that there was no a/c after the summer, and if we didn't like it, we could change to another hotel. But we all softened, and after he thought to get the heat turned off in the room, our second night was much more comfortable.

My only real issue was that the rooms are a couturier's fantasy of a hotel room, pretty much like a couturier's dress is a fantasy of anything a woman who reasonably wear out the door. Each room is different but our was on the 3rd floor and I think of it as "the pink" room. Tiny glass retro bed side table with a lamp base too big for you to put even a pair of reading glasses and a glass of water. A black (good sized) bathroom. So chic with its halogen spot lights in the ceiling, in front of the mirror, but almost impossible to see your self in said mirror. And the whole height profile -- a make-up mirror set for someone 5'8 at least. Maybe a lot of the male guests need help putting on their mascara. Lighting is the biggest --totally fixable issue. Also --such a cool Alessi phone I wish I could have figured out how to use it! The room we were in needs reading lights, and something to warm up the nighttime coziness other than sconces on the red damask walls. The fabrics and patterns are truly fun, but a little more attention to what happens when actual people stay in the room for more than one night, not just come for the tour. My comments are all things I think the ownership could easily fix with an update.

FOr us, not the right place to stay -- but for a fun, Marais stay for a few nigth, truly wonderful.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the building, rather than the side. When the windows are open on a weekend, th...
