The Hotel Du Lion provided everything we needed during our recent trip to Paris. The staff are professional, helpful, and friendly. The room clean, comfortable and cool. The AC was especially appreciated as there were record temperatures. I will not hesitate to recommend. Merci beaucoup!!!More

Two star and three star hotels in Paris and in France in general are little tricky. You can sometimes have an excellent stay in 2 star hotels but can also have uncomfortable stay in 3 star hotels.
Hotel du Lion is one of the best among 2 star hotels I stayed in Paris (and in France), reasonable price, good location, good service, nice room (though a little squeesy).
Two tips:
- you may find it difficult to find the hotel entrance, and if I understand it correctly, there's only a staircase (no list) to the 1st floor (reception).
- No freshfruit for breakfast so if you need it in the morning you need to get it yourself somewhere.

Fair hotel considering the price point. Friendly staffs and fairly clean room.
Selling point: Very close to the train station - main reason we picked the place.
The only 2 things you will need to consider are: it doesn’t have air conditioning (a necessity if there is heat wave when u r there) and if u have large suit cases, as there are 15-20 narrow stairs to climb before you reach the mini check in reception area, it has a mini lift from there to 2/f all the way to the 8/f if I am not mistaken.
I would recommend to ppl with limited budget, not worry about heat waves as there are no AC in the room and/or don’t have large suit cases.

Stayed 1 night on business. Had lovely leafy views over towards the Eiffel Tower. Hotel is right next to the Metro, which was perfect for traveling to and from meetings in Paris. Its about 15 - 20 mins from the Eiffel Tower and Gard du Nord by Metro. Room was simple, but clean, quiet and air conditioned with a good powerful shower. There are plenty of facilities nearby with a lovely boulangerie over the road. Happy with my stay.

Our group of three friends really liked this hotel! Friendly staff, good sized room and a great shower. We were thrilled to discover that we had a view of the Eiffel Tower out our balcony! Easy Metro access and access from the airport.

This hotel is in the perfect location, across the street from both the Catacombs and the Metro station. The staff is excellent and very helpful, and are fluent in English. The rooms are small but immaculate. I would skip the 10 Euro breakfast, as there are patisserie and cafes around the hotel, that are less expensive and more authentic.
