“Nice little hotel”
Reviewed August 21, 2014

Nice, modern hotel very well located. Staff is friendly and helpfull. We asked for a shuttle to the airport and the service provided was cheap and efficient. Wi fi was great. One of the best locations in Paris, next to the main attractions and shops.

Rooms were small but comfortable. Elevator was very small, and usually took a lot of time to wait for it. I didn´t have breakfast because it was cheaper to have it outside.

This hotel was well located for the shops such as Au Printemps and Galleries Lafayette. It was quite small but recently renovated. We took a top floor suite which was a good size and comfortable with a well appointed bathroom. One minor gripe: there was a sofa bed in the room so we thought it was a bit unnecessary, given the room price, to charge an extra €120 for the extra bed.

The Chavanel is nicely appointed and although the rooms are small, they are comfortable. Breakfast at 20 euros a head is not cheap but the range of food is good and the coffee freshly brewed for each customer. The room was reasonably quiet despite facing the busy rue Tronchet. The separate toilet and bathroom is a slightly clumsy arrangement but overall this was a good place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance. We will certainly think about staying there on another Paris visit.

Room Tip: Probably best to look for a room well above street level to minimise traffic noise - Paris does come...

We enjoyed our stay at hotel Chavanel. The staff was very helpful, nice and accommodating. They always welcomed us with a smile and happily helped us with direction and transportation. The rooms are, not surprisingly for Paris Hotel, small but very affectively arranged so that you won't feel too crowded. The design of the room is beautiful and peaceful. It is also very clean, which is a big plus for me. The location is perfect, very close to gallery Lafayette and my favorite, Citaium. It is two steps away from Madeleine metro station and 1 minute walk from Havre Caumartin metro station. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around.

The Hotel Chavanel is a little oasis in the heart of Paris. The owners recently redecorated the entire place and it's incredible. No detail was missed and it shows. The hotel is located in a great area of Paris and close to everything. The front staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Hotel Chavanel.

My wife an I stayed here last month from April 10-14. We got one of the bigger rooms on the first floor. Initially my concern was it might be noisy being close to the street. Not at all. The area is very quiet with a lot of nice little stores around the Hotel. The hi end shopping streets are also very near not to mention Printemps and Galleries Lafayette are just 5 minutes walk away.

The staff were wonderful! Nicky was very accommodating when we checked in. Ivana was terrific and was super helpful every time we had to ask directions or ask her to make a call for us since we didn't speak french. Too bad she felt like "robocop" on our last day there (Hope you're feeling better). But to us she was more like Supergirl since she was always happy to help. Even the guys assigned to the graveyard shift were always very courteous. (sorry I couldn't remember your names). Even the cleaning staff were very courteous with their ever ready "Bonjour"s not to mention that they do an excellent job keeping the rooms very clean. We didn't try their breakfast buffet so I really couldn't comment on that.

We would be more than happy to recommend this hotel to anyone. It was truly a lovely time that we had in Paris and this Hotel and the people working here is a big part of the reason we enjoyed our vacation so much.

Location is great, just a few minutes walk to metro station and Printemps, 10-15 minutes to Opera Garnier. Nice shops and good restaurants in the neighbourhood.

We learned that our rooms were updated when we arrived. They were modern, very clean and big according to Paris standards. We had met four different people at the reception during our stay. They were all very nice, friendly and extremely helpful.

I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again next time.
