“What you see is not what you get”

I'd recommend if you absolutely have to book this hotel and there's no other choice, call them after making your reservation to ask if you can get the "bigger" room. We booked online and when we got there, we got a room that is so tiny, I literally could not fit in the shower. I am 5'9" tall and 155 pounds, not a very large person at all, but I could not sit on the toilet without smashing my nose into the wall in front of it. I wish I was exaggerating but when you shower the entire bathroom gets drenched because the space in the shower is not big enough to hold the water in.

I know that most travelers are not going to spend a lot of time in the hotel, but what little time you spend should be somewhat comfortable so you can rest enough to go out the next day. I would have been more comfortable in a tent sleeping in a camp ground. We got a bigger room which cost us more, and it was almost at Motel 6 standards.

There is free wifi, but it's only in the lobby where at least 3-4 other people are using it to talk with family and friends all in one room all at the same time as loudly as they can. Late at night when the lobby is empty, the receptionist is watching a movie, so it's very hard to ever get a private, quiet conversation with someone back home.

There is one receptionist, a woman who is there early in the morning who is very sweet and helpful. The room attendants are also very friendly. The rest of the staff, not so much. One receptionist is always eating, the other smells really bad, and there's another receptionist who literally never smiles. It's like they hired a circus to run the place.

Also, be sure to check the locker before using it. I've heard that they're easy to break into if you know exactly where to hit it. The first one we got also had dead batteries, so the locker was useless to begin with.

I'm not generally picky with hotels, but this one was one of the worst. The two things going for it are there are no bugs, at least not in the winter (I don't know about the summer when it's hot and there's no AC in the building), and the location is fantastic. But in a city that is so walkable and one of the best public transit systems in the world, save your hundreds of Euro per night and book a nicer, decent hotel a little further away and at least get a good night's sleep and proper shower before walking for miles to explore this amazing city.

Room Tip: Ask for a bigger room if you like to shower or use a bathroom. Otherwise the shower and bathroom ar...

My room is at the 6th floor but they have a small lift so no big deal and it gives me a view of the eiffel. The room is small but clean. The hotel's location is convenient as it is situated near coffee shops, supermarkets, and is near the eiffel. The ecole militaire is the nearest station but i prefer to use the trocadero station which is 15 minutes walk as it gives me the chance to stroll along the eiffel and soak in the paris atmosphere.

I stayed here in Sept 2013 for three nights.
Typical room size for Paris-small.
But I don't spend a lot of time in my hotel room, i want to see the sights!
Bathroom was clean, i did smell bleach coming from the bathroom, not sure why the smell was so strong.
I would stay here again. I'd rather spend my budget on food and sights than a better room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back if you don't want any street noise. My room was on the street side...

this is my second stay at this hotel and it is ok. the advantage it has is that its in a great neighborhood. the manager did not honor my rick steves discount so I wasn't happy about that situation. But its like any budget hotel in Europe, super little rooms with really hard beds!!

The hotel is located close to Champ de Mars and close to metro stations. It is OK for a room price of EUR 99,-.

The rooms are small but ok, but the bathroom and particularly the shower is very small. It is more or less impossible to bend over in the shower.

However, you do not spend much time in the room when you are in Paris.

The staff was friendly.

The main reason I like this hotel is not only for the location but a few years back, they remodeled a double room on each floor to include a full-size "American" bath including a full-size tub and plenty of space to move around in. These rooms run about E100/night. Be sure to ask for one of these. The single rooms are cheaper but have the tiny baths usually associated with most 2 star French hotels. Convenient to bus lines and the Ecole Militaire metro. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area (Rue Cler nearby) and the Champs de Mars is across the street. I believe the breakfast is extra and there is WiFi in the lobby but not in the rooms. If you are looking for lively nightlife, the Latin Quarter or the Marais areas would be better.

This hotel is clean, affordable, and located very conveniently to the Eiffel Tower, cafes, and other attractions. Rooms are small, but clean. Nice breakfast included. I could see the tower from my room window.
