I'd recommend if you absolutely have to book this hotel and there's no other choice, call them after making your reservation to ask if you can get the "bigger" room. We booked online and when we got there, we got a room that is so tiny, I literally could not fit in the shower. I am 5'9" tall and 155 pounds, not a very large person at all, but I could not sit on the toilet without smashing my nose into the wall in front of it. I wish I was exaggerating but when you shower the entire bathroom gets drenched because the space in the shower is not big enough to hold the water in.
I know that most travelers are not going to spend a lot of time in the hotel, but what little time you spend should be somewhat comfortable so you can rest enough to go out the next day. I would have been more comfortable in a tent sleeping in a camp ground. We got a bigger room which cost us more, and it was almost at Motel 6 standards.
There is free wifi, but it's only in the lobby where at least 3-4 other people are using it to talk with family and friends all in one room all at the same time as loudly as they can. Late at night when the lobby is empty, the receptionist is watching a movie, so it's very hard to ever get a private, quiet conversation with someone back home.
There is one receptionist, a woman who is there early in the morning who is very sweet and helpful. The room attendants are also very friendly. The rest of the staff, not so much. One receptionist is always eating, the other smells really bad, and there's another receptionist who literally never smiles. It's like they hired a circus to run the place.
Also, be sure to check the locker before using it. I've heard that they're easy to break into if you know exactly where to hit it. The first one we got also had dead batteries, so the locker was useless to begin with.
I'm not generally picky with hotels, but this one was one of the worst. The two things going for it are there are no bugs, at least not in the winter (I don't know about the summer when it's hot and there's no AC in the building), and the location is fantastic. But in a city that is so walkable and one of the best public transit systems in the world, save your hundreds of Euro per night and book a nicer, decent hotel a little further away and at least get a good night's sleep and proper shower before walking for miles to explore this amazing city.
