“Very basic, clean, safe - fine for Paris on a budget”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Now operated under the auspices of Ibis Budget (Accor), this is a perfectly fine solution for visiting Paris on a restrictive budget. A mere 5-minute walk from the Porte d'Orléans (M4) métro line as well as the new T3 tram that skirts the southern part of the city, it is a short ride from most monuments and key areas of the city. There is a decent selection of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, along with good boulangeries and corner markets - other than that, there are few cultural elements of the city in the immediate vicinity. Still, north-facing rooms do have a distant view of the Eiffel Tower! The rooms are very basic and you cannot adjust much of anything - however, there is a television. ATTN: If you are planning to share the room with someone you do not know well (which is possible with the bunk beds), be aware that the WC is enclosed by a 3/4 door (i.e. does not fully shut) and the centrally-located shower is only enclosed by only vaguely opaque frosted glass. Also, the price of the hotel does attract a younger clientele and (one of the seven nights I was there) some loud music-blaring riffraff. All things considered, it was a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: North-facing rooms have a distant view of the Eiffel Tower, which scintillates for two minutes on th...

If you are looking for a cheap hotel for Paris, this is the right place for you. We stayed two nights in this no frills hotel and got what we paid for- 68 € per night for two. The Wi-Fi was working very good and the room was clean enough- don't expect luxurious linens and shampoos. Since we had checked the room photos before we arrived, we knew that our room would have a separate toilet and shower. It would be better if you put a hairdryer into your luggage.
The receptionists were kind enough. Although we requested a front facing room on the upper floors, they first gave us an uncleaned back facing room on the 4th floor but they changed it upon our request with another one at 8th floor looking over Tour Eiffel.
The hotel is in a safe neighbourhood and close to metro station Porte D'Orleans where you can easily access to Notre Dame, Sacre de Coeur and Montparnasse by train no 4. It is possible to walk to Tour Eiffel in one hour, if you want to enjoy the Parisian streets. We had no breakfast in the hotel, the price was 6,15€ per person. They kept our luggage after the check-out which helped us a lot. They keep one luggage per person.
With the same budget, we would definitely stay again.

Now called Ibis Budget hotel, with a basic but clean & tidy room. Around 10-15 mins walk from the metro station (Porte D'Orleans), many shops along the way. 1 shop selling very nice croissant but I couldn't recall the shop name. The hotel facing the highway but no worry there is no noise (at least at my room). The staff is very helpful when I requested for some hot water at night, he went up to the cafe (which was closed) to get me a jug, really appreciate that. Another guy was also very friendly while check-in. Worth the price as it was very expensive to stay in the city centre so such quality hotel. It took around 20 mins to reach the city centre by metro. The cafe there served pretty nice croissant for breakfast too :)

I stayed there because the hotel is relatively cheaper than the other places. The room they gave us had two twin sized beds which is good thing. They also have free wifi.

The bed wasn't the cleanest because I found a piece hair or two, but at least still tolerable. My biggest concern is you can't manually adjust the heating/cooling system. They say they turn the central heating on for you, only at certain times.

Location is alright if you don't mind the 15 min commute. They have a couple of good restaurants nearby.

This hotel is very basic (now an ibis Budget). It is just a couple of minutes walk to the nearest metro but faces right onto the highway (motorway).

Comfortable stay, but I would pay more for a more central location, particularly for a first time visitor to Paris.
