Now operated under the auspices of Ibis Budget (Accor), this is a perfectly fine solution for visiting Paris on a restrictive budget. A mere 5-minute walk from the Porte d'Orléans (M4) métro line as well as the new T3 tram that skirts the southern part of the city, it is a short ride from most monuments and key areas of the city. There is a decent selection of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, along with good boulangeries and corner markets - other than that, there are few cultural elements of the city in the immediate vicinity. Still, north-facing rooms do have a distant view of the Eiffel Tower! The rooms are very basic and you cannot adjust much of anything - however, there is a television. ATTN: If you are planning to share the room with someone you do not know well (which is possible with the bunk beds), be aware that the WC is enclosed by a 3/4 door (i.e. does not fully shut) and the centrally-located shower is only enclosed by only vaguely opaque frosted glass. Also, the price of the hotel does attract a younger clientele and (one of the seven nights I was there) some loud music-blaring riffraff. All things considered, it was a very enjoyable stay.
