I reviewed this hotel whilst it was still using the Etap brand 18 months before my recent stay, finding it excellent value with good transport links.
That is still the case now it is an "Ibis budget" - with easy access to the Metro station, or the option to take a tram to the Cité Uninversité stop and pick up the RER direct to the centre of Paris or the Gare Du Nord. Although the hotel was full, there was never any noise issue.
My only concern was the new security mechanism - where you are give a piece of paper with both your room number and a PIN number for access - which has several issue. If you mislay that piece of paper you are giving the finder access to your room. If you pop down to reception or the restaurant you have to remember to take the code with you - and your reading glasses to read it! There was no need requirement to check out - so you might still have a concern someone could get access to your room whilst it was still allocated to you.. I'd much prefer some physical sign of security.
There is also no sign of security in reception - the reception desk is well away from the front door, so it's easy to access the lifts without being checked - and the lifts operate without any code.

Room Tip: The upper-floor rooms facing the main road have a good view of the Eiffel Tower, and the road noise...

I spent three nights in this hotel in October 2013. It was similar to another Ibis budget I had used in Belgium - same décor, same cleanliness, same comfy bed, same bathroom arrangement, same strong free wifi. I was pleased with the standard arrangements as they were exactly what I had expected. The price was not bad (I paid 61 euros per night), and I was satisfied.

I had a bit of difficulty in locating the hotel at first as I didn’t know which metro exit was the closest. And there were some works going on in the metro station so things were a bit confusing to me at first. The Porte d’Orleans metro station is about five minutes’ walk from the hotel and there are eateries and bakeries around the station. The road between the metro station and the hotel seemed a bit deserted at night (lots of traffic but not many pedestrians) and I felt a bit unsafe when I returned to the hotel alone at night. But nothing bad happened.

Overall I think this is an OK choice and would recommend it.

This is by no means the best hotel you'll ever stay in - our room was very small, even by Etap/Ibis Budget standards (we had two large bags and struggled to find space for them both without having to constantly jump over them). The bed was also two singles pushed together (with single duvets) rather than a double, which kept sliding apart in the night and waking me up as I nearly fell through the gap in the middle!
The shower is 'in' the room, with just a frosted glass panel, but as I was travelling with my partner this wasn't a problem for us (and if someone is on the bed watching TV, they can't see in). The toilet also, bizarrely, didn't have a proper door - there were large gaps at the top and bottom meaning there wasn't as much privacy as one would like from a toilet!

The location for this hotel is the saving grace, just a few minutes walk from Porte D'Orleans Metro station which links directly to the Ile-de-la-Cite for a short walk to Notre-Dame, The Louvre and up towards the Champs-Elysees, and easily to Bir-Hakeim for the Eiffel Tower. It's a quiet area with some fantastic bakeries nearby and a few restaurants, and of course, the price is excellent for what is otherwise a very expensive city.

Recommended if you're on a budget for a few nights. It's not luxury but it is cheap, clean and well located.

Room Tip: Some rooms facing onto the road have a view of the Eiffel Tower

we went there and when firstr got our room there was strong smell of sweat in the room that just got cleaned and also a couple of long hairs under the sheets of the bed, we asked the reception to change the room and they let us without a problem (theyre realy friendly) but i got charged 10 euros for using the shower of the previous room, in my ophinion they shouldnt have done that because we had to change the room because of the smell. the rooms small but comfortable but the feeling is that the hygeine of the hotel workers is poor. and its not very convinient. he sheets were put upside down couple of times and one more important fact is that you cant open the window inside the room, there is only air conditioner that controlled by the hotel. one more thing is that we got only 2 little towels every day and most of the time smelled like SWEAT.if you plan a visit here bring your own sheets and towel - (and shampoo they give only soap). the breakfast really good and also the reception is very friendly and helpfull. location is also pretty good 20 minutes from center by metro. ITS RATED A 2 STAR HOTEL AND I THINK IT DSERVES NO MORE THAN THIS AND ONLY BECAUSE OF THE HYGEINE AND THE SMELL OF SWEAT IN THE ROOM AND TOWELS.

The hotel has now been incorporated into the Ibis budget brand and hence you get the Ibis service. we were also lucky to be given with a view of the Eiffel tower from the 7th floor which was nice! hotel is a 3 minute walk from the metro, tram, bus and taxi stations and it is very well connected (took us around 10minutes to get to Notre dame). Staff was very helpful. I also purchased the breakfast on a daily basis which was ok (even though only soft cheese and nutella were offered with the bread served, but there were also fruit salads, apple puddings and cereals available so it was well priced for just 6euro.
TO note: room is on the smallish size, so it might be unpractical if you are 3 adults (double bed + bunk bed option). Windows do not open but the air circulation system was fine. the shower door is transparent so if you are not in a relationship and you are sharing a room, it might be an issue taking turns to the shower but for us it was just fine

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower!

We have been at this hotel April 2012.
Good value for money. Very good position in quieter part of Paris(south). 500m to first(last) metro station. 20mins from there to center, 12 stations aproxx...
Lot of streets around with traffic, in my opinion not very good option for families with children.
