“1st night is good”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

So far we have only been here 1 night but the service has been excellent. Only issue so far our room is a bit small, but this is typical of any room in a major city. Off to try the city now and get some breakfast, and be proper tourists.

Booked this hotel via their website and got a good room rate- cheaper than via the usual travel websites. My room was small but very clean and well decorated and very well noise insulated. There was also great aircon- a real bonus in the warm weather. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. THe only slight negatives were that the (free) Wifi connection wasn't good- but there was a hotel computer for general use and the hotel isn't particularly central but has good metro links.

I'd definitely stay again. The hotel was cheaper and better than many three star hotels I've stayed at in Paris.

It is always very satisfying for us to get a five star review from a top contributor on TripAdvisor. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel du printemps and would like to stay again next time you are in Paris. We are sorry for the Wi-Fi connection problems that you encountered. We rely on Orange the first operator in France and in general it works well but there are bugs from time to time and this is when our PC kiosk is useful. We are very looking forward to welcome you again soon.

Stayed here with a friend for three nights in August 2013; we are students and so were very impressed with the price, considering how lovely the area is and how easy it is to get to the centre of Paris and the main sights. As it was advertised as two stars we were not expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived - check in is at 2 but as we were early we were very welcome to leave our bags in the luggage room whilst we went and found somewhere to eat for lunch, and the same with checking out, once we were checked out we left our luggage and had one final day in Paris before collecting it again and heading to the station, for no extra cost. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the room, although small, was beautifully designed, and did not feel cramped in the slightest. The beds were comfortable and plugs were in convenient places, whilst the room was kept spotless for us. Wifi was available at no extra cost, and the connection was incredibly quick, with only one page to register at the beginning, which remembered us throughout the stay there. Breakfast was offered at an extra charge of 9€ per day, but we chose to try out local cafes instead. There are many restaurants and food markets within a 5 minute walk, all at a fair price, with lovely people working there. Everyone we met was so willing to help with whatever we needed, and there is a clear map of the metro system in the reception, which is manned 24/7. All in all it was a wonderful few nights in Paris.

I stayed in this hotel for four nights in August 2013. It was a great little hotel for a very reasonable price. The rooms were (very) small but clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the 4th floor and there was no street noise at all. In fact, I slept excellently every night due to the quietness and the comfortable beds.

Breakfast was extra (9EUR per person - which is about the price of buying it at a cafe too) and was a regular continental with excellent freshly squeezed orange juice. The only disappointment was that coffee came out of a machine.

The hotel is located very close to Picpus Metro station but also within easy walking distance (5 minutes) of Nation, which is a bigger Metro station with a lot of connections. You can get into the main tourist parts of Paris in 20 minutes on the Metro from Nation.

A two star hotel. It is exceptionally clean. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful . Nothing was to much. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on their own. There is someone on reception 24/7. Close to restaurants shops and transport.
The room is basic, excellent on suite (no dust to be found) aircon good and necessary in August. Only short coming no facility to make a hot drink in room, but always able to go to reception.

We found this hotel after a long search online. It is located a few blocks from the Opera metro station. Also has a smaller station (Picpus) less than a block away but you need to connect to get anywhere. The hotel has a nice comfortable lobby and a small breakfast area. The location is a little farther than we would have liked but the price made the extra travel time worth it. The neighborhood has quite a few restaurants and shops and seamed vey safe. I picked up croissants from a different shop every morning. There is also a laundromat very near by that is open at 7:00am and a grocery store a few blocks away.

The hallway lights are on a motion detector and that took some getting used to. Our girls had their own room on a floor above us and we felt no apprehension that they would not be completely safe. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated but are VERY small (as are most in Paris). Bathroom was perfectly fine for one person at a time. Old fashioned keys were left at the front desk each day. There is a very small elevator in the lobby. I would request a first floor (2nd to Americans) room again so the walk was easy. Also, all room have A/C which is often hard to find in Paris.

All in all the hotel suited us fine and would be 5 stars if it was a little closer to the city center.

Staff were very friendly and spoke good English. Wifi seamed to work well while we were there.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lower floors keep you from waiting for the elevator.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments on TripAdvisor. It seems that your long search on the internet was rewarded as you were satisfied of your stay with us. It is really important for all the team that our guests feel at home and safe. Since the recent renovation of the hotel, we make of the environment a major concern. Putting the hallway lights on a motion detector is part of this policy and we thank our guests for participating with us in these efforts. Our location, near Nation (15 mn from Opera), is a safe and lively residential neighborhood where you can find everything for your everyday life while being at easy reach of all main touristic sites.
We are looking forward to welcome you on a future occasion
Best regards

My mother and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in mid-July 2013. Overall, we had excellent value for the money and I would consider staying at this hotel again. It is situated in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, which is quite a welcome reprieve after being out and about in Paris with tourists and the hustle of the city all day long. The hotel is also very clean. It does offer breakfast for 9 euro a day. I actually liked getting the hotel breakfast, and found it to be a good value for the money. Other people may agree/ disagree with this--I guess it depends on what you want to eat in the mornings. The hotel has eggs,. fruit, assorted breads, coffee/ cappuccino, and cereal--juice too I think, and some other items I can't remember. By the time you'd order all of that in a Parisian restaurant (or by the time you could find one that served all of those items) you'd be out 9 euro anyway.

Pros of this hotel:
Very clean rooms., lobby, hallways
Very welcoming staff, particularly Johnatan at the front desk--his English was outstanding and he helped us determine our route to get to different places we needed to go most efficiently. He also helped me to print our tickets to Versailles--I was very stressed about being able to get our tickets printed and he made every effort to get the situation taken care of for us, even though it was 11:00 at night!
Excellent access to the metro system--about a 2 minute walk to the Picpus station and 5 minute walk to the larger Nation station.
Breakfast available at a reasonable rate from 7am-10am
Very nice neighborhood with lots of small restaurants, bakeries, and food shops.
Great value for the location.
Great water pressure in the shower.
There is an elevator
There is air-conditioning
Cons:
Very small rooms and shower stall (though I have heard this is normal for Paris)
The "luggage room" is sort of a joke and no one on staff helps with baggage
The cleaning staff can be very noisy at times, but then again, the hotel rooms and hallways are so small it seems natural they'd be knocking into things...
If you need extra towels and things you need to go back down to the lobby and have the person at the front desk get them for you--but this is technically a "two star" hotel per the sign out front so I guess you can't expect everything to be handed to you :)

Thank you so much for your detailed review. I am very happy to see that you enjoyed your stay with us and recommend our hotel. It is also a pleasure to read that you liked our buffet breakfast and its value. We do feel that for 9 euros we offer a wide choice of quality products and we keep trying to improve it regularly.
I will pass the message to Johnatan who is part of the night team at the reception during summer. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed his service.
Our luggage room is only a storage service we offer to our guests who arrive before check-in time or want to enjoy their last day in Paris and leave their luggage at the hotel. It is true that our small team doesn’t include a luggage handler but that would another story -:).
Best regards and we hope to see you next time!
