“Good hotel, near a metro station”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2011

The Hotel du Printems is a 2 star hotel located in the Bercy area, near the Place de la Nation. Their rooms are small, but with a renewed furniture and quite modern - definitely not tired. Sometimes we could feel the "shaking" caused by the metro trains passing, but I never missed any sleep due to that.

Service is simple, do not expect too much. However, the staff was always attentive for any requests we've made. There's a simple breakfast available for extra 8 euros each person. The fact the hotel is very near a Metro station (Picpus - line 6) makes it easy to go anywhere else in Paris.

Supposedly there was free wifi. However, although my laptop connected to it several times, nothing actually came through it. The hotel staff insisted that the service was functioning ok and it was probably being overloaded. I'm pretty sure it wasn't working at all.

For travelers on a budget, it's an option.

Most hotel/B&B rooms are small in Paris and Hotel Du Printemps in no exception but the decor was lovely, staff friendly and very helpful, and the location of the hotel amazing as it was a lovely little suburb with lots of place to eat and drink but not in the main part of the City but easy access by tube to get into the heart of Paris.
Very impressed with the value of this place, would stay again.

A great small quiet hotel that is located in the 12th, if you're planning on being in the heart of Paris you should stay elswhere, but i can't wait to return. The hotel is close to the metro station Nation which connects with many lines including the fast RER lines, but whilst the trains are efficient you're still adding half an hour door to door to the tourist spots. There are great local restaurants, bakers, coffee shops all within easy walking distance, head for place de Nation there are many great restaurants in that circle, being in the 12th the prices are better value as well. All the desk staff spoke english, the rooms are small and quiet(double glazed windows) with good heating and comfortable beds, great modern bathrooms and free internet downstairs with printer. I had dificulty getting a good reception for WiFi in my room, but didnt both staff with problem. There is a bar downstairs but there is mainly only beer and you need to buy wine by the bottle, the breakfast downstairs was good value if you like a continental breakfast but the bakery on the corner had some of the best pastries in Paris. I'm looking forward to my return.

Room Tip: Ask for street view, don't bother with upgrade

We went to Paris for the first time for 5 days, and picked this little boutique hotel based on the reviews we found here on Trip Advisor.
First, let's get the basics out of the way. This is Paris: the rooms are SMALL. The bathroom is SMALL. I think we can just apply that to 90% of the hotels, unless you're dropping mega bucks, which we definitely were trying to avoid.
That said, the rooms and hotel were impeccably clean. This is a family-owned hotel and the couple that run it are lovely people. Also, Mark and Claudia, who take turns running the reception desk, are very helpful with all requests and can get you anywhere you need to go.

The location of the Hotel is great: 2 blocks from the NATION Metro stop, which means you can be anywhere in Paris in 15 minutes using the RER/Metro system.

Highly recommended: buy a 5-day pass for 50 Euros. If I could give only one piece of advice for first timers in Paris this would be it. Taxis can be very expensive, and the metro system is very easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Back to the hotel: it is situated in the Picpus neighborhood (I know, not a very appealing name), which is a very, very upscale area. Clean and quiet. The girls were delighted to find themselves surrounded by wine & cheese shops, bakeries, flower shops, etc. A very authentic French neighborhood, not "touristy" at all, but again, only two blocks from Nation and therefore 15 minutes from virtually all the most popular tourist destinations.

Finally, the rooms are not very noise proof. We had a "gentlemen" next to us roll in the last two nights around 4 AM, and you could literally hear him walk across his room, take a shower, bump into furniture, etc.

I would recommend asking specifically for Room # 3, due to it's location you only have one neighbor and therefore might be able to minimize the chances of having a bad one.

Lovely clean, modern and freshly decorated hotel. Very quiet and comfortable room. Staff were very welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. Location is good in that there are plenty of ammenities nearby, although you are on the opposite side of Paris to the Eiffel Tour, L'Arc de Triompe etc. However, the metro from Nation station will take you to these sights in 20-30mins. Internet and printer available for guest use. breakfast was a buffet style and had all the expected continental options.

This lovely little hotel was all it lived up to be on the tripadvisor reviews I looked at before I booked. The location is great with a metro line close by and although the rooms are small they are clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful and there are shops and a supermarket close by. The breakfast at 8 euros was a little pricey but then I found the whole of Paris expensive, I nearly fell of my chair when a milkshake for my daughter cost me 7 euros in a cafe in one of the back streets. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a base for exploring Paris, as it represents great value for money.

They say it's impossible to get a good hotel in Paris in a great price. It's not true if you stayed in Hotel du Printemps before. it is so near to Picpus station. Nearby are many restaurants and food. RER good bring you straight to CDG Etoile which apparently is a town, and many other places. The place are quiet yet is near to town. What more can you ask for when the room are clean and tidy, and housekeeping are flawless. Been a frequent traveller. This is probably the best paris hotel choice with budget.
