Owner description: Located close to the Eiffel Tower, the musée du quai Branly exhibits 3 500 works of art from Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania. This important collection makes the musée du quai Branly an unmissable place for discovering the art culture of the non-European world. The museum’s original and imposing architecture designed by Jean Nouvel and its wild garden created by the landscaper Gilles Clément combine to make it a pleasant and unique place. The museum is the fourth largest museum in Paris.

“Great collection of indigenous art”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

However, only one complaint: covers almost every continent except the european continent... Although europeans have colonized (and/or immigrated to) every other continent they have a past not very different to those other lesser technologically advanced peoples they encountered. Do the french fail to recognize that they too had ingenuous peoples? Many of them are direct descendants of the nomadic tribes that inhabited modern day France.

“Beautiful setting and layout of Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

Well worth a few hours of your time; more than 300,000 objects from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. The design and layout draw you in and expose you to non-Western cultures. And you'll have a great view of the Eiffel Tower!

“Really nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

I attended a short documentary screening there and went to a free night exhibit about Hair. The place was decorated with blue and whote light outside. It made it seem like Pandora from the movie Avatar. Really cool. The staff was helpfull and nice. The place is huge. You go down stairs, look around and there is art all around you.The visit itself is great. The main auditorium is beautiful and spacious. I was dreaming of throwing a party there one day.
It feels different than other other museum I visited before. Loved it and will go back.

“Interesting exhibits”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

I visited on Saturday night and was very surprised by the volume and breadth of the exhibits. What an incredible collection! I would have preferred a few more light. I actually bumped into a glass pane because the lighting was so...atmospheric! The installation "River" was brilliant.

“Extremely interesting!”

What a unique museum! Take the time to visit. Exhibits from all continents , ancient civilisations, I had never seen anything like it! The shop is also worth a visit, quite a pity the books are in French, though.
