I bought this holiday for my boyfriends birthday present. From Charles De Gaulle it took us around an hour and a half to get to the hotel and it was very simple, we got the train (rer) to denfert rochereau and from there we jumped on a tube to porte de orleons, the tube is not even 1 meter from the hotel door which was amazing and it only cost 9 euros each!!
Upon arrival we were greated by a not so friendly blonde woman who wasnt interested in being friendly she just wanted to give us the key and to go away (this was the feeling we got anyway) the lift was broken and remained broken the whole trip so climbing 3 flights of stairs all the time did get quite tedious. When we went in our room it was not like any of the pictures, it was clean and tidy but generally horrible, the decor was dated and the carpet was worn. I returned to the reception desk to complain and requested we were put into a Boutique room as this was what I had paid to stay in, and continued to explain that this type of room I could of got a lot cheaper and a lot closer to the city center. She lied to my face and said the hotel was full even though I could see room keys.
We slept in the room for one night and returned to the desk in the morning to be greeted by a very lovely fresh faced man from london who was very very helpfull and genuinly lovely, we explained and he stated he completely understood our anger and that it would be sorted by the evening, we went out for a day out sightseeing and on return a different woman with curly brown hair who was also lovely had a key for our new room, it was beautiful, Alice in wonderland themed, with Big black lamps shaped like rabbits, pink curtains, a huge white bed and woodland wall paper we were delighted! It was very very clean and very very well presented, It did however smell of cigerette smoke, but we passed this by as everyone in paris seems to smoke and reception had a maid sent up immeidatly to spray it for us with room freshener.
The bathroom was small but clean, apart from the shower head which did have dried soap scum on the head, I did try to clean this and it wouldnt budge so I wont say that it hadnt been cleaned as I'm sure it had.
Every time we left for the day we returned to a tidied room with fresh towels and a made up bed which was lovely, there was a mini bar in our room but unlike some hotels you are not charged for oepening it, so we took everything it and filled with food and drinks we bought form the supermarket round the corner. It is a beautiful stylish hotel, in a very lovely area, next to a bakery, cash machines a cafe and a supermarket, I wouldnt say it was close to any attraction but the tube is in touching distance so it was really no trouble, I wouldnt definitly stay again, my advice would be though that as you book you request in capitols that you want a design room - as thats what they call them.
