The content of this review consists of an email originally sent to the O Chateau team following our return from their champagne tour. 2 weeks later we are yet to receive a reply so this review is being posted so others don’t make the same mistakes we did.

Firstly, the website states a travel time of just over an hour but this is much longer at almost 2 hours even whilst there was no traffic as it was early on a Saturday morning. We then had 45 minutes in Reim so were left to look around the city before proceeding to the first Champagne house. It would therefore appear that 3 hours travel time has been allocated to get to the Champagne region rather than the hour on the website.
We were very disappointed that the tour was not as originally advertised when the booking was made as the website stated a visit to three champagne houses, we however only visited two.

Whilst the tour guide answered questions put to him there was a lack information regarding the “particularities and the method of every Champagne house”, “how champagne is made” and “how to recognise a good champagne” as the website states.

On finishing at the second (and last champagne house) we stopped off at an Italian war cemetery which was not part of the original itinerary and seemed to have been included as part of the tour to fill the time.

Given this I do not feel that this tour offers any form of value for money as the tour was not as described.

The first thing we did after a long journey to Paris was the Champagne tasting cruise. It honestly was the most relaxing way to see the whole city and enjoy some great champagne! You get to sit in the front of the boat with a small group, so you have great views without being pushed around. We got to try 3 different champagnes and our sommelier was great. Definitely a must do when in Paris!

Having done this wine and cheese lunch with a friend a few years back, I took my husband on our summer vacation. We had a GRAND time. I really enjoy learning about wine. There's always new information and we have new questions, knowing more ourselves and having traveled to different regions. The staff is friendly, excited and knowledgeable. You should do it!!!

What an amazing champagne tour. The tour starts off my meeting at O’ Château and then heading out in a van for a small group tour. First we visited one of the larger champagne houses, Tattinger, and were treated to a shaker video and the tour of the caves dug by the Roman’s. The guide spoke fast with heavy accent so this first part was not my favorite but it showcases the difference between the large and smaller venues. The second place was the champagne house of Vincent Brochet and what an amazing day. A personal chef prepared an amazing meal that we enjoyed with Vincent himself while enjoying the incredible view of his vineyards. The champagne and laughter flowed all afternoon. We were able to taste several different bottles and ordered our favorite to be shipped home to the states. You can visit the big champagne places yourself if you take a train or car and book tour yourself but you will not get something as amazing as this. We leaned so much and enjoyed every moment. Thank you for a great day in Reims.

My daughter and I spent our first evening in Paris at Le Chateau wine tasting. It was so much fun and so informative. Our sommelier was excellent! He made the group feel so comfortable. Highly recommend getting the wine and cheese board! We tasted about 6-7 wines---no headache and no hangover!
