What a treat! My husband took us here this weekend for our ten year anniversary and it was heaven! As a writer it was very exciting to be staying at the hotel where Oscar Wilde lived (and died) within a short stroll of Les Deux Magots, Cafe Flore, the Latin Quarter and the Seine, 20 minutes to the incredible shops on the right bank, 5 mins to the Louvre and Notre Dame and only 30 mins to the Eiffel Tower - best location.

But it isn't the location that makes it so great, it is the feel of the place - the decor, the utter magic of it. Breakfast outside by the fountain, Bellinis at the bar, the cutest lift in the world, ornate bedrooms, friendly yet discreet staff and my favourite…the basement candlelit pool - swimming in there with my husband on our ten year anniversary will remain a cherished memory forever. Thank you L'Hotel for the most magical weekend of our lives!

Mr & Mrs Collins :-)

Room Tip: all of the rooms are amazing. We stayed in two, the higher up ones are lovely but room 22 was charming and parfait pour deux!

We were here in July and it was a terrible experience. What a poorly run place. We arrived after traveling for 12 hours to find the lift was broken and it was a 5 floor walk-up. Never once did anyone offer us a drink or breakfast as a goodwill gesture, even thought the front desk kids were sorry. The manager was never to be found--even when we tried to make an appt to speak with him--he was said to come in around 11 and leaves at 5, but he was never even there during those hours to our knowledge. The lift was never fixed in the days we were there. Other guests had air conditioning problems and were irate about the elevator.

To be clear--if this was a budget hotel, we'd have been fine walking up. But it is most decidedly not--we were billed 650 Euros per day! The manage was finally called somewhere on his cell and they gave us a discount, but honestly, I would rather have paid the same money in a bona fide luxury hotel. This was pitiful. No review on the restaurant either, as that was closed already in July for the rest of the summer.

The room had an odd, low buzzing noise coming from some air vent. The room decor was fine, but Lord, for 650 Euros, are you kidding? I have stayed in almost all of the top hotels in Paris over the last 30 years and love cool boutique hotels, so I have a lot to compare this place to and it is a lame excuse for a luxury place. You can measure a great hotel with how they behave when there is a problem, as there can be from time to time, and the manager here should be set free to go manage a youth hostel. There are many, many more gracious and reliable hotels in Paris.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel. Relais Christine is nice and very consistent. Don't bother with this silly and poorly run place.

Leave the children at home….This is heaven on earth!
My husband and I often go to Paris in December for a mini-break, as a combined wedding anniversary/birthday treat. We stayed here for 3 nights and never wanted to leave. This is the most exquisite hotel you can ever imagine - It's small and intimate, romantic and cosy, discrete and decadent, unique and luxurious. How many other adjectives do you want? Just go for it and see for yourselves.
A couple of strides outside the front door and you're in the heart of the the Latin Quarter night life of buzzing Jazz clubs, Bars and Brasseries, the chic shops of St Germain and who could resist a pâtisserie breakfast just round the corner, at the famous Ladurée ;)
We'll certainly return as often as we can financially justify!

Smallish room but this is Paris!!! A+ location, incredible staff who were extremely friendly & accommodating, luxurious bed & linens... Clean. Would stay again!! Area cannot be best unless you stay in Champs Élysées - this is a fantastic boutique hotel. Would recommend!!

L'hotel is a hidden jewel. The top floor suite- l'appartement overlooks all the rooftops of the left bank with a beautiful terrace. The rooms are perfectly proportioned and appointed. The private hamman and plunge pool in the basement can be reserved with or without a massage. (wonderful). There are many great hotels in Paris- but the character and charm of this one make it my favorite.
