Our rental of this lovely apartment was a highlight of our trip to Paris. Located on Ile St Louis, it was only a short walk to Notre Dame, the FranPrix grocery store, the St. Paul Metro station and the #69 bus stop. From the apartment, we walked to the Pantheon, Centre Pompidou, St Chapelle and the Conciergerie. There is very good souvenir shopping in the area and numerous restaurants. The unit is on the second floor which affords incredible views of the action on the street below, yet is very quiet at night when the day trippers leave.
In the open plan living/dining/kitchen room, there are two sofas (one that makes into a comfortable double bed) a computer desk, a bookcase wall, a well equipped kitchen with a full frig, a table and chairs for fou,r and several small aplliances. The bedroom has a full bed, night tables and a large closet. The L-shaped bathroom has a modern washing machine and a long counter for folding clothes, a combo tub/shower, and a well lit vaniety/sink area. A loft bed is provided with ladder access, again very comfortable according to our grandchildren with its own fan, but very little head space for teenagers. The large windows all open, provding a breeze and certainly a view. Fans are available in addition for cooling, but weren't required for our visit. The apartment provided basic cooking amenities and coffee; washing up and laundry detergent were also available. The Wi-Fi was excellent at all times.
Philippe communicated with us on several occasions throughout the booking process and in follow up inquiries. Connie, his assistant, greeted us on arrival and provided key details concerning the apartment and the building. She is a special person who really cares that the guests have a good stay. We did book the services of Dominique to pick us up at the airport and to take us to the car rental agency at the end of our stay. The prices were cheaper than taxis for the four of us. We did book his services for an early morning lift to the Orsay Museum and to Sacre Coeur, but found these prices of respectively 20 Euros and 30 Euros very steep. However the fault is entirely our own in that we should have just used the Metro for in town transportation. Although he does not speak English, he was very professional and pointed out the key sites to us.
We have no hestitation in recommending this apartment for a stay in Paris, especially for a family, as we were, introducing our two 13 year-old grandchildren to Paris.
This was a perfect place for me and my two school-aged children! The kitchen, washer, wi-fi (regularly clocked at ~10mbps), etc. made it like home, which was important for our 8-night stay. Eating out in Paris is expensive, but groceries are not, and we had fun trying new foods (but familiar foods available, too!)
It was a great value and good location. Only minutes walk from the water bus, Metro, grocery stores, and restaurants. My son became a regular at the bakery downstairs, and we could look out the window to see if THE Berthillon ice cream shop had a line (which was most of the time). The 1650s Catholic church bells rang up the road, and tourists and locals buzzed down below. Being on the Île Saint-Louis felt special all the time.
Connie was pleasant and kind. She provided useful tips. We immediately felt at ease, even though fresh off the plane, tired, and out of our element. Philippe made the online reservations transparent.
The past reviews paint a similar picture. It is not a hotel with their matching linens, room service, and housekeeping, but that's not why you are looking at this listing, is it? You won't regret booking here if you are looking for a more "being part of Paris" experience. We were so very pleased with the accommodations.
You offer a good product, Philippe, and I wish you continued success!
We really loved this apartment. It's just a 5 minute walk from Notre Dame and several metro stops. The apartment itself is perfect for a couple or a couple with one or two children. Down the stairs are both a boulangerie and a fromagerie, and on the same street are several excellent and relatively inexpensive restaurants. This is a nice and well equipped apartment in a great part of Paris in which to stay. Philippe and Connie were both great to work with. I suspect we will come back next time we are in Paris.
The location and grace of apt lead to the unique experience of Paris in April.could not have asked for anything more, heavenly!,,
Everything in this apartment is as pictured. Good-sized sitting room with eating area and kitchenette, and sleeping loft accessed by ladder. My teen daughter slept in the sleeping loft and enjoyed it. Separate bedroom was nice for when I woke earlier than my daughter and had my own area to be. Everything was clean and well-kept.
The primary attraction to this apartment is the wonderful location on the Ile Saint Louis' principal street, surrounded by wonderful restaurants and shopping. It is a quieter neighborhood (for Paris), and full of charm. Many good restaurants nearby, and everything you need within two blocks. It is a 5-minute walk to Notre Dame and the Ile de la Cite attractions.
Pickup at the airport by Sylvain was excellent. Our flight was late arriving, but Sylvain was there with my name on an electronic board for pickup. Sylvain was also very helpful carrying our bags up the spiral staircase at the apartment.
We would stay again, for the excellent location and feeling that we were part of a charming neighborhood in Paris.
Located by a bakery and cheese shop, Notre Dame is steps away..We found the restaurants on our street to be the best in Paris. We can not wait to come back!
This was absolutely the perfect place for us! It is centrally located with easy subway access. We loved walking in and out of the neighborhood across the Seine. A previous reviewer said that there were good (to very good) restaurants on Ile St-Louis and he/she was right! We ate all but one dinner nearby and had great meals. The apartment is comfortable, but probably not suitable for more than two people. And, if you have trouble with steps, this is not the apartment for you.
