“Best location in Paris”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

If your Paris plans revolve around seeing and doing as much as you can in this beautiful city and only spending time at the hotel for sleep...this is the place for you.

The location can't be beat! Walk out the front door and the first site you see majestic Notre Dame. Use this to your advantage to beat the crowds! Walk around the corner 50m and you're at St Michel-Notre Dame metro station (and it's on the line for CDG, so no hassling with taxis'). If you're more of a walker, you are literally at the centre of the Seine on The Island...pick a direction, cross one of the intricate bridges and enjoy getting lost for the day. There are plenty of places to eat around the area, so don't worry about there being no restaurant at the hotel.

The hotel, located on one floor inside this working hospital, has limited number of rooms and they are quite small. There is enough room for a regular size suitcase, but not enough to unpack and make yourself at home. The bathroom, think of an ensuite size, was clean on arrival with a great shower. We received fresh towels daily and our room was cleaned and tidied when we returned home of an evening. The rooms have air conditioning which was a blessing in the July heat.

I stayed with my mum for 5 days and it was perfect for us. We made the most of the long summer daylight and spent all day out exploring and only used to hotel to sleep. We would stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a great location, wanting to explore for hours and not spend much time in the room.

We stayed here three weeks ago and found it excellent. The hotel is in a working hospital. The rooms are a nice size with skylights that open electrically. Ask for a room facing Notre Dame (I think they are the even ones).

The rooms are a nice size and very quiet. the bathroom is fine. No shower curtain if that matters to you. The staff were very friendly and helped us several times. I would like to thank Mary in particular who was very kind. There is a small charge for WiFi and it works well. They will bring you a nice breakfast to your room for a small charge, but I often went down to the hospital cafe (Cafe Relais H) on the lowest level and had a coffee and croissant with the hospital workers. There is easy access to the RER 2 (50 meters) and the metro (5 minutes). Very central location with many good dining choices within an easy walk. The staff can recommend some to you.

Some advice: First, if you are arriving or departing from CVG the hotel entrance is about 50 meters from the RER2 train station entrance which makes transfer about as easy as possible. If you arrive at CVG, buy your RER ticket, your metro carnet and a museum card at the airport information desk in terminal two, go downstairs an get on the RER 2 and get off at the hotel ready to enjoy Paris. Less than 10 Euro per person for the RER.

The hotel entrance is difficult to find. Facing the front of Notre Dame from the street at the far end of the square, the hospital is on the corner to your left. Go through the revolving glass door off of the Notre Dame square in the center of the building. Turn right then go through the glass door straight ahead and immediately turn left. Walk straight back along the hall and up the stairs through the doors until you get to pavilion B. Turn right and go through the wooden door and take the elevator on your right to the sixth floor. The entrance to the hotel is on your right as you exit the elevator.

Best location ever! My daughter-in-law and I were looking for a reasonably priced Paris accommodation. We arrived to a demonstration going on out front because the government is looking to close the hospital. I still can't believe the good fortune of finding this gem of a place. Our room had a skylight that showed Notre Dame spires. We spent two nights here. The taxi stand is right at the corner. Breakfast was delivered at 9:30 (incredible croissant, hot chocolate, fruit), and it was raining, so we elected to stay in bed (no guilt for we were still "touring" every time we looked out the skylight. It really is a functional hospital, and that made for a comfortable stay. In case of emergency, there's nothing more convenient! Little shops across the street had great scarves for souvenirs. If you have mobility issues, there are a few steps up or down to get to the elevator for the 6th floor. For access to Notre Dame, you are steps away. We had to leave before 7 to get the Eurostar for London, so you have to "check out" the evening before. It was not a problem. The room is exactly as shown in the pictures. It's definitely not a chain hotel experience. It was definitely the best choice ever for us.

This is a fascinating site - the hospital dates back centuries and the building is a maze of corridors, however, if the French government gets its way (much against the wishes of the locals) all will be permanently closed down and this includes the Hotel on 6th floor. It will be a great pity if this happens both from the point of view of the hospital itself and also the hotel which is so centrally situated. Walk out the front door and there is Notre Dame Cathedral! One can walk almost everywhere from this location, to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, L'ile Saint Louis, the Conciergerie etc. Certainly the rooms are a bit dated but they are a reasonable size for central Pairs and are equipped with all one needs including tissues in the bathroom but no hairdryer. The shower over the bathtub was a bit of a worry and the floor got wet whilst showering but there were ample towels to mop up with so not really an issue. Cleaning seemed a bit hit and miss but reception staff were always pleasant and helpful and overall it was an excellent place to spend a wet week in Paris! Yes, a wet week but as I love Paris I really didn't mind and just enjoyed the cooler weather after the unexpected heat elsewhere. I hope when I return to Paris this hotel will still be open.

This is hotel is about 30 steps from the front door of Notre Dame Cathedral..... it is a fantastic location in the centre of Paris. It is inside the Hospital and is a little strange to locate inside however once you have arrived at the hotel reception you then know the way in and out. Great instructions to locate with booking and very friendly front desk staff that go out of their way to assist you.
The room is fairly small and basic with a sky light however more than adequate as you spend your days exploring Paris. Exceptional value for money considering you are so close to everything. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will stay here again when next in Paris.

Quirky and comfortable. Central Paris location at a reasonable price.
Close to the RER allowing direct transit to the airport.
The shower/bath needs some attention as it does get dangerously slippery.
Love the skylight!

The hotel was a corridor of rooms on the 6th floor of a hospital wing. That was where the novelty ended. The room was basic and dated (80's style), there was no shower curtain but it was clean. If you stood on a chair you gained a good view of Notre Dame Cathedral through the skylight which provided the only window.
For basic accommodation with a central location and some novelty value thi is a good hotel.
