My friend and I spent a perfect 5 nights with Bruno in September. The accommodation is a good size by Parisian standards and comfortable. Although the walk upstairs might challenge some travellers, the warmth of the welcome makes it most definitely worth it.
As previous guests have mentioned, the exceptional feature is the host himself. We visit Paris regularly and don't usually have access to such a fantastic source of local information and such wonderful hospitality. And he's a great cook! Having sampled a delicious dinner I'd recommend that option if staying more than a couple of nights.
The Bastille area is not one we've stayed in before but I'd happily visit again for the good transport, great choice of restaurants and lively atmosphere.
All in all, a memorable trip. Thank you Bruno!
The perfect place to stay, a great location easy to find, walking distance to many attractions and close to the Metro. Comfortable and spacious home style acomodation comes with a welcoming and hospitable host.
Bruno IS the perfect host, friendly and happy to provide tips on sightseeing, galleries and museums over a fab breakfast each day.
My 4 night stay was a great choice after a month of travelling.
The location of this B&B is excellent, from the beginning Bruno made us feel very welcome. He helped us carry our luggage to the apartment, once in the apartment he explained the rules, showed us some maps and gave us directions to various places by metro and walking. The apartment is very cozy and has everything you need for a couple for a few days. The balcony has a very nice view including the Sacred Heart Church. Bruno was very flexible for the breakfast schedule and enjoyed very much his food and his conversations. We decided to go on a guided tour with him and was a great experience to learn from him about Paris that definitely made it more real the tour was thru six passages, Palais Royal, The Luvre, the train station and he included a couple of places I found on YouTube and a movie; 12th Arr a street that every building is a different color and Le Grand Colbert restaurant. It was a great guided tour, the next day he made dinner for us and it was a wonderful dinner. It was more like eating with friends, Bruno and Adalbert made us feel at home starting with great drinks and nice conversation then the food he cooked was delicious the brûlée, chicken, potatoes, the pie for dessert accompanied with wined and great conversation. If I am ever in Paris I would definitely stay there again and I do recommend if you want to have a local experience in Paris.
We had a wonderful three night stay in Bruno's spacious B&B and enjoyed his plentiful breakfasts. Bruno also cooked us a delicious evening meal the night we arrived. Staying in the Bastille area we were able to walk to the Batobus that Bruno had recommended to use. Bruno's advice on how to get around and what to see was invaluable. We really enjoyed our stay.
My boyfriend and I recently spent 6 glorious days in this B&B in early April. The area, views, accommodations, and ESPECIALLY the host - Bruno - were superb! The building is quite safe needing a code to enter. The neighborhood is funky, bohemian, youthful, yet tranquil. There are two lovely balconies to enjoy the views from. The bedroom and "office"/bathroom area are separated by a door which allows multiple travelers to get a little privacy or alone time if needed. And Bruno is the ULTIMATE host. His breakfasts are superb (ESPECIALLY the coffee and divine homemade pastries and cookies)! Your room is cleaned/towels changed EVERY DAY. And for a small fee, he will even do laundry for you! He can plan day trips for you and give recommendations on any museum, restaurant, bars, pharmacie, metro stations, train stations, HE KNOWS IT ALL! The room rate is EXCEPTIONALLY reasonable ESPECIALLY considering breakfast is included!
One of the highlights for me was the open air market literally two blocks from the B&B. Open Sundays and Thursdays, this market is amazing! All kinds of fresh food, clothes, little souvenirs and trinkets, even kitchen ware! I could have spent hours at that market!
I have now recommended this B&B to SEVERAL of my clients and friends who are planning trips to Paris. If you are lucky enough to get accommodations here, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Bruno for making my first trip to Paris even BETTER than I imagined! Your hospitality and kindness are greatly appreciated and I'll definitely be back! Until then - bonne chance!
J'espère vous revoir à Paris un de ces jours!
This b&b is very nicely located close to the lively Bastille square, but in a (rather) quiet side-street, which makes for sound sleeping at night. Within walking-distance there is a lot you should see and more, for instance the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Marais-district.
It's on the 5th floor, in an old building without lift, therefore also a bit of a climb to reach people with handicaps or a lazy disposition should now. And that's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
However, for the rest of us it's really worth the exercise. Bruno, the host will do almost anything to make your stay worthwhile, he really is an incredible host and a really nice guy.
We were served nice breakfasts each morning, he cooked a lovely 2-course dinner on two occasions and took us for two excellent guided tours as well, one by day and one by night. Bruno alone is well worth the money spent and more. We heartily recommend his cooking and his touring skills, he knows a lot about Paris. Even if you go out on your own, ask for his advice about the "do's and the don'ts", because for us his suggestions were invaluable since we were first time Paris-visitors.
The rooms of the b&b consists of a bedroom with a comfortable bed and a tiny salon with a desk, a tiny fridge (nice suprise!) and the immaculate bathroom-part, integrated with the salon. Both the rooms have windows facing the street, two tiny terraces (for smoking for instance) and views towards Sacre Cour and the Bastille (Sacre Cour, btw, looks much prettier from a distance than up close, believe me).
All in all, it was a great pleasure staying at Bruno's and the host himself made our trip immensely enjoyable. Heartily recommended!
Our stay at Bruno’s B&B was a delight! Our part of the apartment was comfortable, clean and roomy with a view from our balcony of Sacre Coeur in Montmarte.
We were very close to the Metro making it very convenient to travel to each Arrondissment in Paris.
Bruno is a kind and thoughtful host; serving a delicious breakfast each morning and being there to help us with our day.
All who stay with Bruno should also try to book a few homemade dinners with him. He is a wonderful cook and our conversations during breakfast and dinner were entertaining and memorable.
Most appreciated and thoughtful were the brochures waiting for us each evening to help us arrange our day.
We will always have fond memories of our stay and hope we can travel to Paris in the near future. If so, we would definitely stay with Bruno.
