“Good location”

Travelled by Eurostar for 6 nations rugby match and stayed at this perfectly located hotel - it is right opposite the Gare de Nord station - with a group of friends. Clean, quiet and comfortable and a good breakfast too.

Myself and my Partner chose this hotel for a recent trip to Paris. The hotel offers an unrivalled easy access to the sights of the city via Gare du Nord and the metro stop which is literally opposite the hotel.

The room was clean, tidy and well presented each day and the only slight niggle was that the sink's paint was chipping away but nothing to ruin the experience.

The staff were friendly and helpful and on one occasion we ordered room service and could not fault the quality of the food.

The one downside to this hotel is the area around it is not particularly nice at night.

Very convenient location, very close to both Gare du Nord and Gare de Est, for both the Eurostar, trains and the Metro.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant (particularly for Paris)
The hotel is fairly quiet, at least in our room at the rear, although the area isn't the best it felt safe.
The hotel said that it had recently been re decorated, but in the usual French way, it hasn't been finished yet.
The rooms are very stylish with a good shower and basin and mirror behind a green coloured sliding door and a separate WC with a solid sliding door to save space.
The room was very small and this wasnt a problem as we were out all day and only slept there. The only problem was that there were no hooks to put damp towels on or for coats etc (there was a hook in the shower room but this wasn't adequate)
The breakfast was good with a variety of items available in an attractive room. There is a Nespresso machine and a machine for hot water, chocolate, cappuccino etc cereals, fruit juices, fruits, meats, cheeses, bacon, scrambled eggs and a boiler for eggs, bread croissants etc
The brochure states that there is a lounge bar, this is part of the reception area and not really a place for relaxing in.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be of a very similar size and layout, ours was at the rear and althought this look...

The staff was awesome! Very pleasant and helpful.
As far as the room, despite being advertised as a Mercure, the rooms are not meeting the usual Mercure standards and expectations.
The location is good if you're travelling to/from Nord and East Station.

We booked a room in this hotel because the location is great, only a few minutes walk from Gare du Nord train station.

The person at the front desk was quite nice although obviously trying to sell me the breakfast I didn't want when I checked in.

The room looks really good, with a very modern design, even if it is really small. Compared to other Mercure locations, it has a nice flat screen TV, a safe and a fridge (not available at most of their hotels).
Despite these positives points, there are too many drawback to consider staying at this location again.

The heater/cooler was broken and the room was super hot (25.5°C/78°F) and it was impossible to make it cooler, except by opening the window. Considering that the room is right above the railways of Paris' main train station that is not really an option unless you want to hear loud trains all night long (when the window is closed, soundproofing is fine by the way).

The other negative point is the bathroom. It has a very loud glass door that will most likely wake up anyone in the room with you if you close it at night.
Moreover, you can see through the door, even when it is closed, as it is a glass door, which it pretty bad for "privacy".
Last point about the bathroom is the shower itself. The design is awful and every time you shower, it turns your bathroom into a swimming pool.

I would definitely recomment finding another hotel in the surrounding.
