I have just had lunch at H Kitchen, a new one-man japanese-inspired restaurant in my neighbourhood . We had the 25 euro menu : delicious starter of cooked and raw vegetables japanese style with a small ball of warm foie gras in a cabbage leaf; dorade marbré (a variety of sea bream) and vegetables plus a chocolate dessert which melted in the mouth. Add to that a 9 euro glass of Chablis and you have 34 euros worth of sheer pleasure ! Light on the palate, tasty and inventive. And no piped music ! The place is small and no doubt when full must be noisier, but we enjoyed our meal to the full and I will be reserving for a return evening visit in the new year.
