A beautifully proportioned two-tier bridge carrying trains along its upper storey. It was very reminiscent of a Roman aquaduct in appearance. It is about ten minutes walk from the Gare de Lyon, but it is best viewed from the left bank (south). The train descends after crossing the river adjacent to the magnificent Ministere de l'Economie, des Finances et de l'Industrie building, which reaches out over the water. At this point, the Seine appears to be much more of a working river carrying barges of all shapes and sizes eastward away from the city. There is a pretty little train station on the South bank, called Quai de la Gare.
