After a long weekend in Paris while staying in England, we found ourselves at the Paris Nord Cafe (it is across the street from the Gare du Nord where the Eurostar from London arrives). We had already eaten dinner but we wanted to enjoy the pleasant summer evening. Once we sat down at a sidewalk table at the Nord Cafe, a friendly waiter brought us a full menu, but I told him that we wanted only drinks and snacks. We ended up ordering beer and frites and sitting for over an hour watching the blue sky over the Gare du Nord turn to black and stars at 10 p,m. We never felt pressure to order more food and drink. Our waiter thanked us profusely for a healthy tip on a small bill. We also talked with two diners who raved about the shellfish at the restaurant.
