We visited Cafe Vito one evening on the basis it seemed busy.
The menu was a fairly standard Italian, pasta, pizza one with a short wine list.
The food was average, but the service good.
The issue with all of these Cafe's that have the outside seating that once you open the front door, a large wave of smoke comes in from the outside tables! Its not unique to Cafe Vito but is is off putting when trying to eat.
The Cafe is used by many locals, so normally a sign that is good, so maybe we our expectation of Italian is a little above Standard!
Would I go back...........I'm afraid not, based on what we were served.

This two level italian restaurant is in the popular Marais district close to several major metro stops and hubs (Hotel de Ville, Chatelet). It has a full outdoor seating area for those of you looking to dine al fresco. I typically have gone here for dinner. The selection of pastas and pizzas is very wide - try some of their interesting combinations in addition to the more traditional ones. A basic - heir spaghetti bolognese - was very meaty and good. Their Reine pizza with ham and mushrooms was also good. They also have a nice assortment of interesting salads. Wait staff was very nice. Coffees and desserts were also good. Prices are reasonable for Paris. They do NOT take American Express - my only complaint.

I think they may have been short-staffed, because the waiter dealt with the entire outside - which was packed. He worked non-stop, didn't forget anything, was very pleasant (and took time to have a laugh at one of the very saucily named cocktails they had), and produced our drinks and meal in double quick time. Mind you, it looked like everyone appreciated his efforts judging from the tips being left for him.

It was good food, and a real experience just watching him work. Thoroughly enjoyed out visit.

We stumbled upon this lovely café in the Marais area in June 2012, just when it started to rain and we were super happy with our choice, couldn’t have stumbled better.

My husband ate a pizza here with crème fraiche and parma ham, and this has become a favourite for him. He hasn't had a better pizza since. I had a lovely salad with mozzarella, tomatoes, bruschetta and salami. That was also very tasty.

It was very crowded, but still intimate and cosy.

Don't remember what pizzas we ordered. It doesn't really matter. We just remember that they weren't that great.

Plus, the service is terrible. The waiter bumped me with his tray and didn't apologise. And, people who arrived after us were served before us.

Ate there years ago and now I remember why we haven't been back in ages. We were hungry and decided to go there after shopping at BHV. Never let a hungry belly tell you where to eat.

Go somewhere else if you want good pizza.
