“No-Frills Perfect Oyster Bar”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

The second stop on our impromptu oyster bar tour of Paris, this attractive little restaurant served best-yet oysters in a simple, charming style. There are only five small tables, a little fridge for the wine, and the zinc display case, fronting the street, for the shellfish. You can buy the oysters to take away; however, the owner-server will also shuck them for you, place them on ice (with some aioli and bread) and pour you a glass of wine. They were superb--salty, juice, a bit sweet. We also had a half dozen shrimp that--in their own way, mind--were every bit as good as the oysters. Next time, though I'd order more oysters and pass on the shrimp! Boiled shrimp I can do back home (with Zatarain's shrimp boil, probably), but these oysters are exquisite. The final total? Set us back--oysters, shrimp, wine--45 euros. Worth every centime.

“Worth it...”

I love the tiny environment of this restaurant. There were only 5 tables and the one server. Super good oysters! I would definitely go back.

“Special!”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

Stumbled onto this place like everyone else seems to do. Tiny space with great oysters, a lovely champagne and a very engaging helpful host. Some confusion about restaurant name, as signage is for La Cabane, rather than Opium, which is actually his partner's fashion store around the corner. Well worth a visit, if you like European oysters (coming from Australia, this has been a real eye opener as to what we miss out on!). Will definitely go back!

“Best oysters”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

We had walked by this small business several times while staying in the area. The display of fresh oysters drew us in. The proprietor was charming and made excellent suggestions on which oysters to try. He told us stories about his life and explained the different types of oysters, comparing some with those found in the US. They were each excellent, some White Pearl, some special Le Claire and most I don't remember. Also excellent bread and butter. I think we could have finished another couple of dozen but it was getting a little pricey. Highly recommended.

“Oyster heaven"" *****”
Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

Like most other reviews , we stumbled by this little restaurant as we zig zagged through the back streets of paris on our way back to our room. The curiosity set in as I noticed the oysters in the open window of the restaurant , we went in and from that point on we experienced another passionate culunary French experiance . The most freshest oysters and the warmest service .
Travellers do yourself a favour , this is a must do experiance whilst in paris"
Enjoy ,
