The second stop on our impromptu oyster bar tour of Paris, this attractive little restaurant served best-yet oysters in a simple, charming style. There are only five small tables, a little fridge for the wine, and the zinc display case, fronting the street, for the shellfish. You can buy the oysters to take away; however, the owner-server will also shuck them for you, place them on ice (with some aioli and bread) and pour you a glass of wine. They were superb--salty, juice, a bit sweet. We also had a half dozen shrimp that--in their own way, mind--were every bit as good as the oysters. Next time, though I'd order more oysters and pass on the shrimp! Boiled shrimp I can do back home (with Zatarain's shrimp boil, probably), but these oysters are exquisite. The final total? Set us back--oysters, shrimp, wine--45 euros. Worth every centime.
