“Avoid Single room at Boronali”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

Very expensive at >100 EUR / night, no breakfast. Had single room, so small you wonder how the bed was brought in... its window opening in a narrow shaft from where kitchen smells enter the room. Miniature bathroom. Plastic cups. Shady neighborhood, particularly at night. Made the mistake to walk from Gare de l'Est to hotel around 10 PM. Lots of prostitutes and other dubious people on the street. On the good side, is only a few blocks from the "nice" part of Montmartre.

Room Tip: Avoid Single rooms!

I agree that there is nothing "Boutique" about this hotel. However, it was clean, the young woman at the front desk could not have been more helpful, and the price was reasonable. Our room was extremely small but had everything one needs. Unfortunately, there was a metal strip hanging from the roof of the building next door and it kept me awake most of the night clanging in the the wind. Finally, despite the heat, I closed the window and the noise was not so bad. We did not pay for breakfast as there are so many cute little places in the neighborhood to eat. The location is close to Sacre Coeur, but maybe on the less desirable side.

Rooms aren't too big, which is to be expected in Paris, but it was fine. The location is okay, lots of restaurants and shops nearby, close to Sacre Coeur and several metro stops. The hotel is stylish, just a little noisy at night (but maybe we just had bad luck and had noisy neighbours).

i spend here one night, where i booked the double room. The room was super super small. If you are staying alone it can be considered ok but for 2 its really too small. Same counts for the "bathroom", the shower however is perfect- siwe is ok_works very well has a strong Stream. But as soon as you step outside you are almost sitting on the toilet! The bed was comfortable and i was happy that there was a window in the room bc it was very airless and there is no aircon available. There is no room service or a minibar. You just have a little refridgerator. There were 2 duck stations, for 1 person its sufficient but not for 2 . The shampoo and gel douche were from bad quality . The whole hotel has an old ambiance . Its not as design as you might think; not at all actually.Especiqlly the netrqnce qnd the dining area...when i arrived it was very dark ,no lights switched on. It is close to a matro station château rouge which is a very multi cultural area, however if you walk up towards lamark coulaincourt it is a very nice , lovely neighbourghoud where you can find some cute local cafes. Its also very nice to go up the hill and see the luxury part of Montmartre. The woman at teh reception was very kind and smiley . Its just the price you pay for such a crap room , i really think its not in balance. If it had a reasonabel price it might be Worth staying here ( if you spend a lot of hrs outside ).

Room Tip: if you are with 2 i would book 2 seperate rooms , its too small and too expensive

Stylish but comfortable hotel, perfect for exploring Montmatre and Paris beyond. Friendly but discreet staff, a generous sized room and lively location within easy access of all the sights made this the perfect hotel for a romantic weekend on a budget.

Stayed at the Boronali hotel for a couple of days, the service was good, the room was very small but clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient with plenty of public transportation routes available. The price is good without being excellent. It is a pretty descent place to stay and we had a great time there.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

The Boronali hotel calls itself a boutique hotel, but is more of a simple 3-star hotel attempting to add some boutique-ish design touches. Having said that, for the price (we paid 109 euros per night for a room), it is one of the better deals I have found in Paris.

The hotel is about a five minute walk from the Chateau rouge (line 4) metro stop. The area can get a bit sketchy in the evenings.

Things to keep in mind:
- the rooms are small and humid (maybe just a problem on the top floor, where we stayed)
- bring a pair of flip flops for the bathroom. When you take a shower, the whole bathroom gets flooded and very slippery. There is no shower curtain and the bathroom is tiny. The shower was not designed well, so the water does not go down the drain but extends to the whole bathroom surface. (By the way, the bathroom is so small, that the doors actually look like a closet, not a separate room). The fact that the toilet paper is next to the shower also shows that this boutique hotel's design elements were not very well thought out....
- nice toiletries from L'Occitane, so no need to bring your own
- our room had some problems with the heater's temperature regulation. It was very cold initially and then at night, got really hot.
- small windows and not much ventilation (which might explain the humidity)
- there is an elevator but it is TINY: you can squeeze in a small suitcase two people (preferably a couple, as you'll end up very close to each other). I think we measured the width and it was about 60 centimeters...
- the bed is on the soft side
- tv in room, but I believe it's mostly local channels in French
- If you are traveling on a budget, skip the overpriced breakfast. You have a complimentary coffee and tea maker in the room and you can just go down to a local bakery to pick up some croissants. There is even a small supermarket in the neigborhood where you can buy any other food or snacks you might need.
- free wifi available - just ask for the password
- You can leave your luggage after check out but keep in mind that they do not put any tags or lock it... They just leave it in the general reception area, which might not be attended at all times.

So, for a 3-star hotel in Paris, the Boronali offers good value but I would not stay for more than a couple of nights.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling on a budget and looking to stay in the Montmartre area. For first-time visitors, I would recommend staying in a more central part of Paris.
