“Lovely Hotel in Paris”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights July 9th.We found this Hotel to be very comfortable clean and with very helpful staff. The location is perfect you can walk to Notre Dame and River Seine in 15mins. There are lots of reasonable priced Restaurants and Cafes around. The Metro station is right next door and so easy and cheap to get around just ask in Reception. We took the hop on hop off bus you get to see everything. All in all this is a perfect place to spend time in Paris and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from main road we had 404 and it was very quiet.

As the other reviews mostly pointed out, the most outstanding thing about this hotel is its staff. They are friendly and would go out of their way to help you if you needed anything. Their service is also very fast and responsive. The location is nice if you prefer to stay on the left bank but it is a 15 min walk to the major tourist areas that are close to the Seine such as Louvre, Notre Dame and other famous sites, so expect to walk that distance each day if you choose to go to places by foot.

There is an entrance to the Luxembourg RER station just outside the hotel but that also means you may hear the trains running in the hotel room. You can also hear ambulance sounds as there are hospitals nearby or motorcycles on the road if you have a room that faces the road. If you are really tired, it probably won't bother you when you are sleeping.

The room is small but the queen size bed is comfortable and very soft. The bathroom is modern and renovated in 2011 with nice toiletries. There isn't really a bathroom door with a lock - it is a two piece door separator as another review pointed out. This is ok if you are staying with your own family.

The breakfast is good with croissant, bread, cold cuts, egg and cereal - however, it is probably not the best croissant out there.

I just wish all the rooms has good soundproof despite whether it is facing the road or not because otherwise it is a very good hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back garden are quieter.

Dear Mr and Mrs Deruderu,

We thank you for taking the time to post this detailed review.

We regret that the size of the room was not at your convenience. Usually, accommodations in the Latin District are not very spacious. Therefore, we try to make up for it providing a good quality service to our guests and we thank you for acknowledging it. Moreover, we are delighted you enjoyed the comfort of the bedding and the Fragonard toiletries.

We are sincerely sorry that you were disturbed by the street noise beside our soundproof windows. May you have informed our receptionists, we would have made the necessary for an appropriate room switching. The rooms on the back of the hotel and those facing the Young Deaf People Institute are more isolated and quieter.

We also regret you didn't like our croissants. Ordinarily, our guests appreciate them. They are prepared and delivered every morning by an artisan baker. Be assured that we acknowledge your observation and will do our best to solve it out.

As you mentioned, the thoughtfulness and efficiency of our staff is our main asset. We are honored they were of great assistance to you.

We hope you had a nice trip back to Toronto and wish to welcome you soon

Best Regards

We booked a delux room on the hotels own website which had a special offer of 10% off for 3 nights stay, this offer was cheaper than the hotel booking websites. It was very good value compared to most of the other hotels we looked at, and we did a LOT of research! On arrival the staff we're extremely friendly and spoke excellent English. As we were early they stored our luggage for later, we even stored our pram in their store room each night as it was too large to fit in the lift. I didn't see the standard rooms but our room was surprisingly spacious as we had expected a shoe box from reviews of Parisian hotels. We had a cot next to one of the windows and there was still lots of room. The bed was a queen and very comfy, the decor in the room was really nice, quite funky and of a very good standard. The ensuite bathroom was modern, clean and well stocked incl. bathrobes. slippers and toiletries. The staff continued to be extremely helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The location was good, being next to the Jardin Luxembourg, on the route of the hop on hop off bus and about 15 mins walk to the Seine. We walked around at night and felt very safe. There are busier and more central areas but they are only a few minutes away and not a good enough reason to not stay at this wonderful hotel. I would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: The deluxe room was spacious, we were at the front on the road but the windows were very well insula...

The nearby RER-B station allows easy access to central Paris, and a direct link to CDG airport (if you don't have too much baggage). Our room had so little storage space we had to live out of our suitcases. I am puzzled as to why they put a massive king-sized bed in such a small room. The WiFi facilities were good, with only a minor outage. The staff were consistently attentive and helpful. This is a reliable place to stay if you don't expect to luxuriate in your room. The immediate neighborhood is rather dead at night, so you should make plans elsewhere for dinner or entertainment.

Room Tip: The quietest rooms have the garden view, opposite the St. Michel side.

Dear Hhovaness,

We are sincerely sorry that you found your room too small. Therefore, we regret not being informed, we would have done the necessary to assign you a more spacious room and help you with your luggage. May we take the opportunity to inform you that our receptionists can pre-book a taxi or a shuttle to drive you to the airport.

For your next visit, may we suggest you to taste the new menu of our brasserie Le Luco. Moreover, we would have the pleasure to give you some advises about the best places to go in Paris.

Enjoy your summer.

Kindest Regards

The room given (assigned for two) was too small even for 1 person. It was very clean and nicely organized and the staff were extra friendly. The 2nd day they changed it to a bigger nicer rooms which was managable somehow.

Room Tip: Take the bigger rooms only

Cozy well designed room was tiny but just fine for a couple (so long as you don't have a ton of baggage). Nice efficient bathroom with stall shower. The hotel is situated between Bl Saint Michel and a side street, and our room overlooked the side street -- which is much quieter and recommended -- and a walled garden (not the Luxembourg, which is on the opposite side of Bl St Michel)

This place is very well located, half a block from the station for the RER B line, which connects you to the entire Metro system. Across the street is the Observatoire gate into the Luxembourg gardens which, weather permitting, is a wonderful place to walk on your way to St Germain, Musee Cluny, Pantheon and Notre Dame, all of which are in walking distance (using that term a little loosely when it comes to Notre Dame, which is a bit of a longer walk).

The charming reception staff was very helpful. We will happily return for our next dose of Paris.

Dear Mr and Mrs Kronikle,

We thank you for taking the time to post this detailed review.

We are sorry that you found your room somewhat narrow. We would have been pleased to help you with your luggage and store them for you. We also regret you didn't warn us about the size of the room, we would have done the necessary for a room switching upon availabilities.

However, we are delighted you enjoyed the comfort and the decor of your room.

Stayed here for 2 nights in June and could not fault the hotel or service. Friendly service, classy decor and a central location make this a hotel I would return to, which is the first time I calm say that after numerous Parisian trips. The room upgrade wasn't bad either!
