This hotel is perfectly located, just at the entrance of the huge Chatelet-Les Halles Metro and RER station, and 10 minutes walking from Louvre and Notre Dame. The rooms have the traditional size in Paris (i.e., they are small), but they are clean and have adequate decoration. The only downsize was some street noise early in the morning. I did not try the breakfast, but it seemed well priced for the area (9,70 Euros). There was free internet.

Room Tip: Top floor (6) to reduce noise from the street.

I came to this hotel out of desperation one night when I had to escape from a party at a friend's house nearby where I was sleeping. They charged me 89 Euros for a room about as big as a closet with the worst and smallest bed imaginable. The room looked like it was only fit for prostitutes. Truly vile and dirty. You will not find any pictures of it on their website - wish I had taken one so you could see for yourself.

It was so awful I left after two minutes, since I could not imagine spending the night there. I tried to get my money back but the owner (a bitter old man who claims he is a dentist and that he "knows what clean is" - oof) refused to issue a refund, and tried to make up all sorts of lies, like I ate a sandwich in the room and saw it twice, blah blah blah. Imbeciles. I told them to check their surveillance footage if they believe I was there for more than two minutes, but they said the surveillance isn't working and they would have to get a guy to play the tape.

I went to the police station but unfortunately the police don't handle issues like this (it was considered a civil issue) and I didn't feel like wasting my whole day dealing with these crooks.

AY!!!!

Eventually after causing a scene, the owner agreed to give me back 40 Euros for a room I entered for 2 minutes.

An awful, depressing place, which you should avoid if you have any respect for yourself.

GREAT location, easy access from the CDG airport and centrally located. Perfect location to explore the city. The room was OK. I stayed on the 5th floor, in a room with balcony. Small bathroom. The elevator didn`t serve the ground floor, and it was too tiny.

Location and price are the deciding factors for me in Paris. The Agora is perfectly located - metres from the Metro and RER, close to Les Halles, the Pompidou, Notre Dame, the Seine, surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops. Our room was on a higher floor and the lift is tiny but OK. The room was very small and the shower-room also but it had a lovely small balcony with atmospheric views. The hotel overall is somewhat shabby too. But the flaws are forgivable since it's charming as well as well located and although not cheap, it's probably one of the best all-round hotels for city breaks.

A lovely little hotel, the location right on top of Chatelet/Les Halles RER/Metro station is perfect for almost all sights (many in walking distance), tons of shops, the Forum Les Halles, almost all metro lines and even the RER to CDG airport. Helpful hint for exiting Les Halles metro station (which is huge) - follow the signs to the "Rue Pierre Lescot" exit, which will put you within 50 metres of the hotel entrance (just keep walking straight on). The Forum was being remodelled and a major construction site as of August 2012, but it wasn't giving us any problems getting around.

I stayed here with my husband and another couple with a 12 year old boy, we were all very happy with our choice of hotel. The neighborhood has lots of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The hotel rooms were beautiful, whimsically decorated with lots of care (lovely antiques, wallpapers, etc), and all but one of the staff were wonderful, except for one employee at the reception who clearly wasn't interested in helping anyone but everyone else was truly sweet and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure.

One night in Paris and stayed at the Agora.
Great location and not that noisy one the restaurants and bars closed below.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful giving advice on what to do and where to go.
Very good value for money although not luxury you can't beat this hotel for all round value.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room

Having lived in Paris in the 70s I wanted a few nostalgic and selfishly alone days in central Paris. This was the perfect choice - great ambiance, excellent and unintrusive service, quiet at night, very central and convenient for walking. Once I had discovered my entrance 50m from the hotel to the Metro and RER station of Les Halles, that was most convenient - direct line to CdeG airport. But note that the underground complex of platforms, shops and exits is a nightmare. I had 3 nights as a single for 112 euros per night, excluding breakfast - plenty of choice in local restaurants. The breakfast room looked small and it's much nicer to eat in one of the many local cafes, surrounded by parisians, rather than other tourists.
