“Good value for money!”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday and take him away to Paris for the weekend. I booked the hotel from late rooms.com roughly a month before his birthday.

The location itself is excellent - very quiet at night, but still lively enough in the day. There are lots of lovely cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk. We stayed Friday 4th March 2012 - Sunday 6th March. On the Friday night we found a wonderful restaurant just around the corner where I had the best steak EVER, and on the second night found a lovely place that sold very delicious pork.

Around the corner from the hotel is the metro stop which is very handy when going to the CDG airport (takes about 20mins.)

The hotel itself is wonderful. I wasn't expecting the best for what I paid, but there is nothing really to complain about. The staff were lovely and spoke good English. The rooms, if not a little small, were very clean.

About ten minutes from the hotel is the Lourve, which is wonderful at night.

The only thing that annoyed me was the stair case! The lift is very tiny, and could just about fit me and my boyfriend in. You must use the lift though when carrying luggage to your room though, as the staircase is very winding and narrow (not good when wearing heels.)

All in all though, wonderful stay. No complaints. Would stay again.

Very close to Boulevard St. Germain this is the absolute right location. Close to attractins, cozy bars and very good restaurants indeed. It is a small three star hotel, but it is better than other three stars hotel in this area. Friendly 24 h open reception, nice breakfast room in the basement and the 11 Euros breakfast is quite OK - especially good bread. The rooms are small, but you don't need big rooms in this area! We can highly recommend this hotel.
Other rewievers have weitten about the church bells from a very nearby church, but for us it was absolutely no problem!

We spent 3 nights in Paris starting our European holiday. We found Hotel Agora on the Internet and took our chances. We were so happy that it turned out to be a great decision. The location is minutes away from Notre Dame Cathedral and close to most of the major spots we wanted to see. It was also great to use the metro and it was so convenient when we trained it from the airport. The staff were so accommodating in speaking English because of my poor command of French. It was a wonderful experience all round- the service, the location and the food. I'll be returning.

Very, very small rooms (99 Euro), very modest interior not exceeding the functional. 1 plastic cup for two people, woolen blanket with cigarette wholes and hairs from the former guest. Very loud - it is not possible to sleep with open window. One point for the location and one for the price. Personally I would not suggest this Hotel to anyone. We were there for two nights. One more and I would have changed the Hotel. This Hotel is only for people who like the shabbily chic of a french Hotel.

My husband & I stayed at Hotel Agora Saint Germain for 5 nights in May 2012. The room was small, as advertised. The room was very clean and well looked after. We had an inside facing room, so could barely hear the church bells that went off each hour. The elevator is approximately 1m x 80cm...very small!

We got buffet breakfast each morning in the basement and found the staff member to be extremely rude. She made my husband and I feel very uncomfortable. She greeted french people with a huge smile, offered tea/coffee and chatted to them, whilst we got a grunt if we were lucky or had to call her over to ask if we could please have tea/coffee, to which she was not impressed.

By biggest gripe with this hotel; however, is the fact that we had to leave our room key at the front desk each time we left the hotel. It was cold outside in May and we would arrive back at the hotel each night around 10-11pm. We then had to press the buzzer and wait for the door to be open. Sometimes the receptionsit was not at the desk, or on the phone. So the wait would sometimes be a LONG TIME...standing in the wind and cold...not very nice. Also, when we were finally let inside the receptionist would ask for my name, room number etc etc which was annoying having to verify myself every time I wanted my key. So horrible.

Great location...450m from seine river and notre dame. Heaps of cafes nearby.

Room Tip: Request an inside facing room, to avoid hearing the church bells ring each hour!

Situated just opposite Les Halles metro station, Hotel Agaora is well connected by metro to most of the locations with may be a single change. Most of the tourist attractions like Notre dame, Luvre, Champs -ellysse are 15-30 mins walking distance away. The deluxe rooms are small but comfortable and cosy. There is no airconditioning though. American breakfast is served at an extra cost of 9 euros per person. However there are plenty of cafes / restaurants nearby and one can pick up breakfast / lunch/dinner at any of these joints at a much lesser cost. There is a 24 hr KFC nearby too.
Staff is very helpful and attentive. All in all, a good experience.

Great location in the 5e Arrondisement [Pantheon], just a few blocks from the Ile de la Cite and steps away from some great restaurants on Saint Germaine. Staff is friendly and very helpful to the language-challenged [they all speak beautiful English].
Rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet, although on the small side [it's Paris, after all]; avoid bringing lots of luggage or you will be climbing over it.
In-house breakfast buffet not really a bargain at 11 Euros but a great time-saver if you are on a schedule...and the croissants WERE terrific.

Room Tip: Street can be noisy, so try for 3rd floor or higher.
