Some evaluations said that the place of the hostel is a deficit, but you are in a very central location of Paris. You have to go about 300 m to reach the next metro station (number 2 or number 11). We had a deluxe twin dorm for 3 nights and a room for 4 people (unisex) for one night. Both of them were very clean and the furniture of the rooms was also very modern and nice. Every day, our room was cleanded and tidied up by a charwoman. Also the team of the hostel was friendly and open-minded. In the prices is a breakfast inlcuded, it's delicious but don't expect too much. You can choose between a croissant, baguette and cornflakes with milk. The drinks were coffe, tea, milk and orange juice so that everyone finds something for his/her preference.

The hostel itself is lovely. So clean and modern, really lovely for the price and for a hostel. The staff could not be more helpful. Happy hour at the bar is brilliant and the continental breakfasts are unexpectedly great for a hostel. Loads of information available for guests and access to good computers. The court yard in the centre is ideal and really pretty and, again unexpected for such a reasonably priced place. BUT the area is intimidating, to say the least. Travelled with a group, girls in our early twenties, but around twenty of us and we were shocked. A girl staying in the hostel was mugged of all her belongings right outside, just before we arrived and one of my friends had her phone stolen and a knife taken to her, so really scary stuff, and we are not, not street wise. Saying that, after the incident the staff in he hostel were brilliant, as were the local restaurant/bar owners and the police, all really friendly. If you are feeling comfortable then this hostel is great. Especially for the price. I really cannot fault the place itself. Just be careful in the surrounding area, it's really really bad.

I enjoyed my stay here. The Loft is in a really interesting location, right in the Chinatown area of Paris - not the trendiest area, but I loved it. Under 5 mins walk from 2 metro stations (lines 2 and 11), and pretty close to Gare du Nord, Chatelet, etc. There are a number of bars nearby, a supermarket, and heaps of restaurants/takeaway places.
Staff were very helpful
Breakfast was fine, and didn't run out early unlike some other places (there was free bread left out all day too - a nice touch)
The common area/kitchen was a little small, but it sufficed. It was a nice area to meet other travelers.
Some people suggested the area the hostel is in (the 19th) was unsafe, but I felt safe even at midnight. Naturally you probably wouldn't want to wander around alone after the metro stops, but that's the same as anywhere else.

There were only a few negatives for me:
-The lockers were small, basically large enough for your valuables only. You won't be fitting your luggage/large backpack in there.
-The beds were a bit creaky; this made for disturbed sleep if someone arrived late/left early (they weren't awful though, I've heard much worse)

Loved this place, clean big rooms, separate shower and toilet in the rooms so you don't have to wait for someone to finish showering to get in there.

Close to the train, easy to get into the city or to Montmartre.

Free breakfast is super handy as well and the kitchen is good if you want to save some dollars and cook up your own meals.

There is seriously nothing I could complain about with this place!

I stayed at the Loft for 2 nights when I went go Paris with 4 other friends. We had a room of 5. Our room was clean, nicely decorated. The heating worked great and the bathroom was modern and clean. At first thought that the blankets were too thin, but they ended up being fine when I used them. There is a communal kitchen/tv area which is nice and has stove and sink that is free for use. There is also a fridge to store food. Breakfast is complimentary and quite good for a hostel. There were croissants and baguettes, jams and butters and a few different types of cereals. Juices and coffee/tea. They also have cheap drinks and happy hour. The lady at the desk was really lovely and she spoke about 7 languages! The location isn't in the centre of Paris but the metro is just a few streets away and that is very quick. There is also free wifi and you can have it on as many devices as you like. Overall a very nice, clean hostel with a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Needed a place to crash while passing through Paris and found The Loft online. Booked and moved in within minutes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable...new, modernised bathrooms a revelation! Trés cool!
Courtyard nice to meet other travellers and chat. Kitchen a bit small but cosy. Internet and wi-fi good. Reasonable prices according to the accomodation.
A bit outta the way in Belleville but it´s situated smack bang between 2 Metro stations (2 different lines M2+M11) ... each 2 mins walk away. 30min stroll to Notre Dame and the attractions. Relatively close to Gare du Nord and L´Est. Not your typical tourie neighbourhood...I like that kinda thing cause u get to see real life.
Glad I was there.
