Great market with fresh food, cheese, clothes, gifts, etc, the variety is excellent and worth a stroll. My wife and daughter bought silk scarves at a good price. I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and willing service provided by the stallholders. Look for the fruit seller who sings to his customers, a salesman of note. Try the banana and chocolate or the lemon crepe. An instant kick and a great time to forget the diet. We are going back again before we leave. Get there in the morning as we were told it's basically over by 2pm.

Not as big as we had expected from all the reviews we had read in the guide books. This is a nice clean market with a good variety of stalls from food items to clothing. We strolled through the area and purchased a few minor items.

For those who struggle to find things to fill a Sunday in Paris, Marche Bastille is certainly one way. There is no shortage of delicious things here, and we found some excellent silk scarves for 5 euros!!! It's also within walking distance of the Marais where many shops are open. A perfect start to the day.

Great experience! You can find all kinds of fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, seafood and even flowers. It is open on Thursdays and Sundays. After enjoying the great atmosphere, you feel like going back home to cook and eat all the fresh food!

On a recent trip to Paris my sister and I wandered along the Seine, looked at the remains of one of the towers of the Bastille then followed people with shopping trolleys to the Bastille Markets! Along the way we admired the buildings, the Bastille Opera, Juliet Column and the wonderful reflections of sights on the Bastille Opera windows! Then we crossed the road and walked into market wonderland. Music from buskers, all types of produce, clothing, bits'n pieces, flowers etc.
I loved the atmosphere and variety of produce found in these markets - said to be the biggest in Paris!
We finished with a delightful coffee and plate of chocolate crepes in the Bastille Cafe - sitting watching the passing parade and listening to a wonderful band in front of us.
