“Perfect location in the Latin Quarter.”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Wonderful boutique hotel with easy access to everything. One block walk to the Metro, shopping, and dining. The room was quite comfortable and the size very nice. Hairdryer, toiletries, and clean towels! I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone. The price was very reasonable.

We had a family room. This has two separate bedrooms and one single bed out in a sort of hallway between the bedrooms. What first struck us was the unpleasant, stuffy smell as we entered the room. The weather was nice and we opened the windows so that helped a bit. As we have come to expect in France, we opened a wardrobe door just to find it was the toilet, needless to say it was small. We appreciate that space is at a premium in Paris and old buildings are difficult to renovate and upgrade to the conveniences expected by modern travellers. We were ok with the room. Kids were quite happy to have separate sleeping spaces.

The lobby area is very charming and has a sofa and some chairs for those who want to sit down and look at magazines or look at the busy street outside. The breakfast in the morning we found more than adequate. No bacon and sausages but you can boil your own eggs and croissants are fresh. Coffee is served to your table and it was nice.

Best for us with small kids was all the restaurants just outside. We tried several in the days we were there and found them to be reasonable quality and the whole street was bustling with people all evening. We didn't find that the street noise bothered us in our room though.

Dear Sir or Madam,

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in spite of the bad smell in your room .

We are sorry about this inconvenience, but please note you can tell the Reception Desk
about whatever is wrong in your room, the housekeeper can take care of it, and we have
a handy man coming to the hotel every day to check all the technical problems we might encounter .

In every room, there is a door for the toilet ,but there is a proper wardrobe as well .

But as you mention properly , most of hotels in Paris are renovated old buildings , and it not always easy to meet every guest's expectations, according to what they find in their country ; some people like the toilet inside the bathroom, while some other people will give more importance to the size of the bed.

Anyway, we would be happy to see you again if you decide to go to Paris .

Best regards

We stayed at Hotel du Levant from 7 May 2013 for 6 nights. The hotel is located near Saint Michel metro and RER stop. It is therefore easy to reach from Charles de Gaulle airport. RER B from CDG airport stops at Saint Michel. From Saint Michel the hotel is 2 minutes walk.

We stayed in the comfort room. The toilet is separate from the sink and the shower area which made daily routines difficult to manage. The room itself was very small (12 square meters).

There was no hot food for breakfast except for boiled egg. So the breakfast was very simple: croissant, cereal, cold cut meats, cheese, juices, coffee.

On one day we did not get hot water for shower as the boiler malfunctioned. The hotel compensated us Euro 120 for the inconvenience caused.

Room Tip: Do not stay in comfort room as they are very small and the toilet area is separate from the sink and...

Dear Sir,

We are happy you enjoyed your stay in spite of all inconveniences .

Regarding having the toilet and the bathtroom together , there is one confort room like this
in the hotel . The same for some of our superior rooms ( the bigger rooms )

But if nobody expresses this special need in the comments when making the reservation, we do not give this room necessarily , as most people do not mind staying in the other rooms, or just because this room is not vacant .

Anyway, we are doing all our best to keep our guests satisfied even for some reasons beyond our control.

Hoping to see you again in our hotel .

Best regards.

This charming hotel is in St Michel, on a small walking street. A 5 minute walk to métro St Michel and RER. Great location. New decoration. Nice smiling staff. Great service. Modern small bathroom. Rooma on inside court are quietest of course. And breakfast is included in price.

Great for a week of discovery.

Room Tip: For action, and view a room on the street. For quiet , a room on the inside court.

I stayed there 10 days (february 2013): great location; very good hotel (I had a single superior room) with very good breakfast. All staff very friendly & helpful. Everything is very near by: underground, RER, bus, shops, restaurants. You are a walking distance from Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Conciergerie, Ile Saint Louis, Jardin du Luxembourg, Pantheon, Musée de Cluny, the Saint Germain des Près neighbourhood: "le quartier branché maintenant"!!

Room Tip: The single superior are a little bit bigger then the standard one.

I have stayed here twice. The location is excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms cannot be faulted and the breakfast is divine. There are many good cafes close by and walking distance to Notre Dame and Metro stations. I can recommend the Hotel Du Levant to anyone visiting Paris. I will stay there again on my next trip to Paris.

This was our stay at this hotel and the reviews didn't let us down. It appears to have been recently renovated and is in a perfect location for a short-break. It's located down a side street and is very close to the RER St MIchel/Notre Dame station which is ideal for Charles de Gaulle Airport. (I would advise that you buy a Paris Travel Pass before your trip if you are planning on using the RER rather than bus or taxi. You will need the five zone ticket. The 5 zone pass will also allow you to travel to Versailles and unlimited use of Metro and Bus). Many of the main Parisan tourist sights are within walking distance and an evening stroll along the Seine either before or after an evening meal is recommended especially in Spring-time. What impressed us was the size of the room we were allocated. Having stayed many times in Paris we expected the usual minimum sized room - ours was surprising large and maybe we were lucky! - but it was well above the norm for hotels in this price range. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included in the price and it was more than adequate for our needs. The rooms facing the street can be noisy first thing in the morning when the rubbish is being collected, but that's the only down-side. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and cafes which means after a day's sight-seeing you can have a wonderful evening meal, relaxing and recovering, within a short distance of the hotel. Home to bed in a trice and ready for the next day's adventures. Compared to other hotels we have stayed in Paris we didn't find it expensive. It's situated in the 5th Arrondissment (Latin Quarter) which we love, so for us it was ideal - just perfect.

Thank you very much for your nice comment.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay , particularly your room.

We are making every effort to redecorate our rooms to make them both comfortable and attractive .

But of course, to avoid the noisy street in the morning , we can arrange a quiet room beforehand when you book .
