Hotel du Levant is so Paris, an ideal boutique style hotel that is reasonably priced and situated in one the city's most quaint areas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is located on the left bank in the 5th arrondissment near a variety of restuarants including fondue... Rooms are on the small side, but typical for Paris. I have brought many small groups to many different hotels in Paris and Hotel du Levant is one of my favorite... and walking distance to so many highlights, located just a few blocks from the Seine in the Latin Quarter and very near Le Notre Dame Cathedral, Place St. Michel... about a football field away from nearest Metro station. Unlike many hotels in Paris, Hotel du Levant ususally includes breakfast in their nightly rates!

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you very much for your nice comment .

We are not a luxury hotel with very big rooms but nobody can beat us regarding our location. This asset makes our hotel the ideal place to be either for business or leisure .

The Left Bank offers a wide choice of restaurants according to your taste and your budget .

Regarding the major tourist attractions from the hotel , I would rather say a stone's throw instead of a football field away , five minutes walk to geat access to the Metro station .

Yes, we do include breakfast in our room rates, a buffet breakfast from which you can help your self as much as you like . The wi fi is free of charge as well.

Hoping to meet you again in our hotel .

Best regards.

Expensive hotel but worth it, and don't forget you are paying for Paris. The location of this hotel is fantastic close to the metro and an easy walk to many of the famed locations. An excellent breakfast and staff were outstanding.

As others have said, if you want to be close to the action *and* close to the RER this place is hard to beat, especially if you are coming in CDG airport. Notre Dame and other imp. sights are *very close* to the hotel, which saves on travel time. This is a noisy part of the city but if you ask for a room facing the courtyard (mine was 12) you should be fine. The staff is friendly and tries to be helpful. The morning breakfast is very basic but does the trick if you want a little something to start the day. Wifi is provided but the signal in my room was very weak. This could be a big deal for some travelers. For a short trip where you have to optimize for travel times this place is ideal, but if you planning to stay four days or more, you should be able to find a quieter hotel with more amenities in a less central location (and still be close to the metro).

After getting off the Eurostar and successfully negotiating our way onto the Paris Metro to get off close to Hotel du Levant, we initially struggled to find the way to this hotel, but the streets are small and quaint, so it didn't take us long to make our way there (in hindsight, perhaps a taxi would have been worth the expense).
The best advantage to staying in this hotel is its location. The Latin Quarter is a vibrant area and we loved the atmosphere we encountered each time we stepped out the hotel door. The restaurants nearby were lovely and well priced. We were perfectly situated for the Hop On Hop Off bus stops, as well as the Batobus water ferry stop.
Our room was on the top floor and was perfect for two adults and two teenagers. Although it was just one bedroom, the kids' beds were in a separate area to the adults' beds so it felt like we were really in a two room unit. We loved the space. The bathroom had a luxurious feeling to it and the skylight window over the bath/shower offered a nice view of the Parisian architecture.
Unfortunately the air conditioning unit didn't cool the room down enough and we didn't getting a great amount of sleep due to being a bit too hot in July, but it was still better than no air conditioning at all.
I know there were mixed reviews for this hotel when we booked it and it was expensive at 300euro p/night, but we were very happy with our room and felt the price was still good by Parisian standards.
The kids also loved the access to the free wi-fi. There was no laundry, so the receptionist organised for the hotel's laundry lady to do our washing. This was very expensive, but she did a wonderful job and folded/hung all our washing in our room so that on our return, it was all like new. We were so thankful, we asked her to do a second load the following day! (For the cost involved, we decided it was worth it just so that we didn't have to worry about taking time out of our busy schedule to do washing ourselves).
The man on reception in the evenings was a godsend for us. My daughter fell over and badly sprained her ankle in the middle of a very busy street during one of Paris' huge thunderstorms. She was in so much pain and although we eventually had to make an unscheduled trip to the hospital only a couple of blocks away, for the first couple of nights he was very good, helping me sort out ice and teatowels etc for her to put on her ankle. I would sincerely like to thank him for this (and also letting us eat in our room when she was not up for any more walking).
The lift is of the typical European variety, very small, but we found it was perfectly adequate for getting us up and down to our room.
For those looking for wonderful Parisian restaurants, they are on your doorstep at Hotel du Levant, but when the rain or other unexpected events drive you to the point where you just need a quick bite to eat, or minimal supplies, there is a McDonalds and a corner shop just at the end of the road.
We loved our stay here and would stay here again. Certainly, we wouldn't stay in any other district other than the Latin Quarter again.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you very much for your nice comment.

Our location is definitely what most of our guests appreciate .

Our area always brings a lively atmosphere and can be very helpful regarding the restaurants , or the supermarkets.

You can walk easily from the hotel to most of major attractions ( Notre Dame, The Louvre Museum, Pompidou Centre , Orsay Museum) .

In more luxury areas of Paris ,most people go shopping during the day,and find it hard to have a nightlife .

Our rooms are not as big as what you can find in a palace , but we are constantly making efforts
to improve their decoration so as to offer to our guests a good quality service .

And that goes for our staff as well , who are always dedicated to help and satisfy the guests in any circumstances .

We will be happy to meet you again in Paris .

Best regards.

We have struggled to find a good value for money hotel in Paris, having to either pay huge sums for a good one or enduring some nightmares! This hotel is in a fantastic location, close to our favourite part of Paris. There are many tourist shops and restaurants around and of course the hustle and bustle, but it all adds to the atmosphere. We had no problem with noise at all. The staff were friendly and professional, with the emphasis (as someone else has commented) on the professional. The room was clean and a decent size. All in all a good find and we would return.

The hotel delivered everything we needed. It was professionally managed, with the emphasis on professional rather than personal, and our triple room was adequate for a 3 night stay. The room was spotlessly clean with 'fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise (having read previoous reviews) and, having mastered the cook-your-own boiled egg contraption, we were well set up for a day's heavy sight-seeing round the city - first stop right on the doorstep. The position cannot, in my view, be bettered, but I am not very knowledgeable on Paris attractions. Even so, it was perfectly placed for access on foot from the train (underground) station connecting directly with CDG Airport and Gare du Nord. The neighbourhood was busy with a lot of foot traffic in the evenings, possibly because of the number of restaurants nearby.

We felt safe in this environment and could access everything we needed - the "Diagonal" store a few yards away was very handy for picnic components, snacks, a very reasonable bottle of wine, general groceries etc.

We enjoyed our stay, but at 220 Euros a night this was not a bargain - but this is Paris.

I can easily rate this hotel after staying at least 10 times in this hotel. I come here once a year for business and it is great place to stay. The rooms are small as in most of the Hotels in Paris, but clean, comfortable, air con in all rooms working even in winter time. Rooms at upper floors could be to warm sometimes. Also typical in this kind of Hotels.
what is very positive? LOCATION, less then 400 meters from Notre Dame de Paris, 50 meters from Boulevard Saint Germain and the M station (also RER B going to the airport) so right on one of the best places in Paris to live, great shopping district, many "a la mode" restaurants and bars, etc. etc.
good value for a 3 stars hotels. really worth a visit. You will be not disappointed.
WIFI access if free for all time of your stay and this is a PLUS to consider when travelling for business.
