I have stayed at the Hotel du Levant for a long weekend in Paris every year for the last 10 years. I will keep coming back. My recent visit was again a reminder of how much I enjoy staying here. While the rooms are small, the location, access from CDG, the welcoming helpful staff are all first rate. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from Boulevard St Michel, on the RER line from Charles De Gaulle. It is in the Latin Quarter, in a cobblestone street lined with many traditional French and international restaurants. It is a short distance from the Seine River, Notre Dame Cathedral and all the Paris offers. My room overlooked Rue de la Harpe, and while it is a busy street crowded with restaurants, it was very quiet and almost no street noise could be heard. The room was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. Bathroom is small - but totally functional. I was greeted on entry with "welcome back" and all effort was made to ensure my stay was comfortable. The elevator is tiny, for sure. Be glad that it has one! Free wifi is available and it worked well! The breakfast was abundant - a basket of croissants and baguettes, with cheese, eggs, cold meats, pastries, fresh fruit, and juices. All so fresh and delicious. Great sitting rooms at the front of the hotel. Great coffee as well. A great start to exploring Paris. Thanks so much for your ongoing hospitality, a delightful charming place.

The rooms were small but clean.
Arriving and leaving with luggage for 5 was tricky as the lift is very small and no help was offered or received by any member of staff!!
Free wifi was a bonus with the added benefit of a loan iPad for each room if you didn't have your own.
The hotel location is great - close to transport and major attractions!

Dear Sir or Madam,

We are sorry about your inconvenience regarding the lift and the staff not being helpful with your luggage , they usually help in any way as soon as they can .

But just like yourself , most people praise our free wi fi connection , which is not always the case in the hotels of our area .

We will be happy to see you again in our ideally located hotel

This is a budget hotel, but if you want to be right in the middle of the action, it's a great spot. Some rooms are a bit noisy, though that didn't bother us at all. The staff is wonderfully accommodating, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is perfect--good coffee and enough croissants, toast, etc. to get you started. I left my raincoat in the closet and the staff mailed it back to the U.S. right away (I had to pay the freight, but that's to be expected). One of our party thought the decoration was a bit over the top, but hey--it's nice to have some excitement, isn't it? The price is right, the location is great, and you feel at home quickly.

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet, ask for a room far from the street. But this hotel is very popular, so...

I have stayed in Hotel du Levant twice over the past 2 years, once by myself and the other with a friend. I had great experiences both times staying at this hidden gem on the left bank and would not hesitate to recommend it.

This hotel is in an excellent location, surrounded by patisseries and restaurants. The area is always buzzing, but I never heard the nightlife from my room.
The closest metro and RER lines are just 200m away, next to the river, and from here you can get just about anywhere in Paris very easily.

While the hotel rooms are somewhat small, the are perfectly comfortable and have all the essential amenities.

Breakfast is a simple, yet substantial, continetal breakfast - more than enough to give you the right amount of energy needed to wander the street of Paris.

On both my stays, the service I received from hotel staff, right from the time I booked, was excellent. The staff are all friendly and always willing to give advice about their wonderful city.

Hotel du Levant is an easy choice for me. It is for travellers who want a hotel without fuss, while having a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a fantastic location and at a very reasonable price.

A great small older style hotel in Paris. It is in a very touristy area, but well situated - about a 10 minute walk to the Notre Dame, and close to St Michel/Notre Dame metro and RER station.

The rooms are small, but comfortably appointed. The breakfast is a small continental breakfast - bread, croissants, cereal etc. and was more than adequate.

The staff are all very helpful and friendly and speak good English. The room rates are very reasonable for central Paris. I would not hesitate in staying here again.

It is a small family hotel, very cozy, in Latin quarter of Paris. The streets are so colourful.. As well as people. A lot of restaurants from many parts of the world. Street musicians add to the general atmosphere of constant festival... The room itself was a little bit small for our family - 2 adults and 3 children.. But as we were spending most of the time outside sightseeing it was good for the 3 days that we spent there. Personnel friendly. But one better not be late for breakfast ;-) anyway it's not a problem with such amount of cafes in the street.

Dear Sir ,

Thank you for your nice comment about our hotel .

We are happy to hear about our ideal location , you can go sightseeing and enjoy the nightlife in a constanty lively area.

In some areas in Paris, you are bored to death at the night

Regarding the breakfast ( from 7:15 to 10:30) , we usually allow the guests to have breakfast even when they are late .

Hoping to see you again in our hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in March/April 2008 for a week and had the best time. The price was great. I loved the charming breakfast room and staff. The breakfast was good and filling to get you started. The bakery next door or near-by awakened me every morning with their delicious smells:-) The location was perfect. RER to the right end of the street and metro to the left. Restaurants everywhere (your fault if you go hunger) Notre Dame 10 minute walk away. Leo was super nice and professional! As were the other staff (just can't remember names) It was my 5th time in Paris and would stay here again:-)

Room Tip: I stayed in room 58 on the 6th floor as I am reading from my journal. It was a small room buy enough...
