Just returned from a stay at this hotel and was very happy with it. The room was small, clean and comfortable and the hotel was good value for money. The hotel is located in a busy area close to bars, restaurants and shops. You are also very close to the metro stations Place d'Italie and Les gobelins. If you are after more hustle and bustle don't be fooled by just thinking all Place d'Italie has to offer is on Le Avenue de Gobelins. From the hotel if you walk down the hill towards a large starbucks at the bottome you will come across 'Rue Mouffetard' (may be easier to locate using a map.) Around here is a long alley of boutiques, restaurants, bars and pubs where there is a great atmosphere and some nice places to eat and drink. I don't recall the name of this street I'm afraid but it was relatively easy to find once we found Rue Mouffetard.

Room Tip: Our room was in between the lift and the stairs so could get noisy when other guests returned or lef...

The buget hotel is well located, in a nice district, 5 min to Metro station - Place d'Italy, with good connection to the city (M5, M6, M7). We stayed in a twin room (no 56) on 5th floor, actually the two deds were closed to each other, but this wasn't a problem for us. The room was big enough, very quiet due to its positioning at the end of a hallway and it overlooks to a courtyard. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed daily, also. In the room we had a kettle and free coffe, tea and biscuitts. Before to get to the hotel we were afraid that the room won't be heated enough, but it wasn't like this because in the room was a good temperature and we had hot, hot water for showers, which we enjoyed after hours spent in the cold wather. Near hotel is a supermarket from where you can buy different things and a lot of places to eat.

Room Tip: Room 56 is quiet.

Small, but clean and comfortable room. Breakfast way better than I expected with array of cheeses and cold cuts, yogurt, croissants, bread etc. Short walk to place d'italie metro station and not to far from Latin quarter.

We stayed 7 nights and wished would have stayed fewer nights as the rooms are super tiny and located about a 15' metro ride from most landmarks. It is ok for the price, but expect even more walking to major sites and less than average amenities. By US standards it should be a 2-star. Service is also average, nothing impressive. There is no free coffee and/or hand lotions in bathrooms, just the most basic goodies. Cleaning service is average. A few uncomfortable things were the noise coming either from the furnace, or a not so well insulated window. On windy nights, this became annoying. The mattress was also incredibly hard, just like the pillows, but for a few nights is ok. Just wouldn't recommend for longer stays like ours.

It's a very nice, low budget hotel.
The rooms are small but clean. It's location is good, close to the metro station and to many restaurants. We didn't try the breakfast but there is at least one very good brasserie around and a lot of cafes that serve breakfast.
I would stay again in this hotel.

There is nothing bad in this hotel, except that rooms are little bit tired. The breakfast is really nice, compare to what you get in other Parisian hotels.
Location is nice, many restaurants around, quite safe during the night, close to the metro.
Overall it's ok, just nothing special.

Me and my partner stayed here for a weekend getaway in Paris. I booked the hotel mainly because of the reviews as I do not know the city that well. The area is nice, lots of brasseries and restaurants around. The metro is also nearby and if you come from London by Eurostar, the Gare du Nord is on a direct line from Place d'Italie. The hotel has nice English speaking receptionists, no problem there.

Now, I really hope I did not pay as much for the room as guests on other floors did. We were put on the ground floor, on the street side. This I wouldn't find such an issue, but the window was opaque, making the room feel like a windowless basement. Otherwise, it was of an OK size, a bit dingy, but fine overall. Bed was comfortable, and the pillows better than hotel average. Bathroom was decent size, but there were no hooks for the towels, and the shower was of a strange shape and not very comfortable to use.

If you decide to go, specify non-ground floor room. I am annoyed that this was not mentioned on the booking, I would have paid more for a room with an actual window. Also, the breakfast noise woke us up every morning, as the room was right next to the breakfast area.

The nearest station is Place d'Italie, take exit 1.
