Very quite hotel, even if it was in the red light district of Paris. We never saw any activity as such and felt fairly safe walking the streets. Great location for Moulin Rouge, Sacre Couer and transport. Staff were always helpfull. Room was a little on the small size, but it is a budget hotel, so it was to be expected. Clean, with safe deposit box in room, so no problem with security. No views from windows, but who cares, dont pay to sit in a hotel room. Very nice staff, who were helpfull as best as there English would let them.

This hotel was in a bad part of Paris. Red light district. Virtually no services except an overpriced breakfast. No lighted hallways. Elevator so small you had to take luggage up one bag at a time. Room too small. Could not sit on toilet and shut the bathroom door. A large person could not get past the sink to get in the shower or use the sink. The staff at night could not help you at all and even during the day weren't very helpful. I think you could do better for the same price. The beds were comfortable. Phone doesnt work and they wont let you make a call overseas even if you pay them. Absolutely no room anywhere. The halls are so narrow and dark. YOu can hear everyone on your floor as if they are sleeping next to you.

People say that Pigalle is part of the red light district in Paris, but we didn't find this to be true. Apart from a few noisy revellers late at night, we got no trouble, nor did we see any sign of prostitution. This hotel is a 10 min walk from Opera, a main train station in Paris, and we pretty much walked to all the famous sites, the closest being the Louvre to us (less than 20 min).

We paid budget price for this hotel, and that's what we got. The rooms were kept clean and because they weren't booked out, we got a large family room just for the two of us. The TV has many channels to choose from and room service is around midday every day. Most service staff speak good English and like most French, they appreciate you just trying a few words or a simple sentence.

The room was small but clean (although the bathroom was spacious).
The staff was friendly and helpful.
There are several subway stations nearby and the Sacre Cour is just 10m walk.

I recommend it for anyone who just wants one room to sleep.
