We booked a weekend stay to celebrate my husband's birthday in Paris based on the other reviews, and were not disappointed at all! The room was well-decorated with a tongue-in-cheek French style, and spotlessly clean. Although facing the street, and us being sensitive sleepers, apart from the occasional reveller heading home, we didn't hear a thing through the night. On the day of the check out, my husband was ill so I requested for a late check out. Damien at the hotel reception was incredibly understanding, and offered complimentary tea and coffee, whilst delaying our check out from 11am to 1pm. Knowing that we had a train to catch at 6pm, he further offered to let us stay till the evening for a small fee. Overall, we feel that we have been incredibly well taken care of, and the hotel was very good value for money. We will definitely be back.

We found this hotel clean, well located near metro station and within ten minutes or so walk from Gare du Nord and Gare de l'est. It was quiet and off the main traffic route and near one of the canals so nice to walk around the area.
Staff were very good and had good English if you needed it and were generally very helpful. No lift. So if you are older, tell them you want a room on a lower floor. They will help you take heavy bags upstairs but next time we would ask for ground or first floor.
If you eat in the food was excellent and not too pricey.
The bed was very good and not too hard as with many european hotels.
All in all an excellent and modest hotel

Room Tip: Get a room on the ground or first floor

My wife and I have been to Paris a few times now and have to say that Le Robinet D'or is the best hotel we have stayed in.

The rooms are massive (by usual Parisian standards) and the location (very close, though not facing, the Canal de St Martin) is perfect for exploring, with Gare du Nord, Gare De L'est and many metro stations all within easy walking distance (10-20 mins).

Things to be aware of:
There is no lift, but the staff were very helpful and offered to carry luggage to the room.
Breakfast is not included in your room tariff, but is available for additional charge, or there are lots and lots of Boulanger, Patisserie and Cafe very close by.

All the staff at Le Robinet D'or were very friendly and genuinely wanted to be of assistance. We even managed to practice our French a little, which I am sure was appreciated.

In the wider area, the canal is a lovely area to walk at the weekend, with the roads being pedestrianised at weekends. On Sunday, there was also a fantastic market as you follow the route of the canal towards Bastille.

Finally, we can also recommend eating at restaurant in the Hotel. The duck was fantastic (though be warned, served very rare) and the Les Jamelles Mouvedre wine was also excellent.

We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Room 302 is a lovely big room, overlooking the road, but is very quiet.

Immaculately clean and we'll stocked. Small but quiet and warm. Great bathroom. Restaurant downstairs very hip and happening and fantastic food reasonably priced. Close to both stations. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Room Tip: No lift but staff bring your bags up.

We stayed here for two nights and were pleased with the customer service of all the staff. The subway was close by and easy to walk to. The front desk clerk was very helpful on giving directions and which line to take to get to the sights that we wanted to see while we were there.

Room Tip: We enjoyed our room

Stayed here for two nights in room 302 & were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the hotel, the best of several we have stayed in in Paris. The location was perfect for us, easy walking distance from the Gare du Nord and also the Gare de l'Est for the Metro giving easy access to everywhere (buy a carnet of 10 single tickets for 13.30E rather than 1.70E each). Very quiet location near to the canal, which, in better weather makes for a lovely walk down to the Marais or Bastille and beyond. Also, some good bars etc nearby - Bar Le Valmy on nearby corner for breakfast (boulangerie opposite), aperitif or late night drink and others further down the canal, plus restaurants (Chez Marie Louise sadly closed during our stay). Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will return,
