I have been to Paris a few times but always bypassed this center because of it’s quirky design and modern art. Since we had a museum pass and wanted to get out of the record breaking heat, we decided to give it a try. The pass does not include cost of special exhibits, but it’s worth it to see what’s offered in the standard price. It was a welcome relief over the extreme crowding of the Louvre, the Musee d’orsay, and Versailles. There were visitors but not overwhelming. You could get close to the art without being bumped of the likes of Picasso, Matisse, and other impressive modern art pieces and sculptures.

My husband studies architecture and just loved seeing this place! Very artsy and impressive work! He enjoyed it! Plus we found Picasso!

I still can't decide if I like the look of the building or not, but it's certainly interesting. I was a bit disappointed with the view, in that you can't walk all round the building, and the view was better from the 4th, not the 5th floor which was included. Interesting modern art too, even though I understood very little of it.

Odd exterior and interior! To enter you ride or walk up this very hot tube where you have to exit one stairway and get onto the next. The sun is beating into this tube & it is uncomfortable! Modern and abstract art exhibits. One out of 10 appealed to us. Snooty & unhelpful staff. Would not recommend.

I keep thinking the city of Paris must feel they have to apologise to the world for the architecture of the Pompidou Centre. The escalators in an un airconditioned hot dirty tube are an abomination. The building itself, an architectural discouragement of the human spirit,is an industrial mishmash that makes a mockery of the idea of beauty in design.

Having said that, the art of Matisse, Picasso, Chagall, and others is well worth seeing and we'll presented. If you can force yourself to enter this monstrosity of a building, you will enjoy its contents.
