“Yes..It's a budget hostel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2012

While reading some of the other reviews, I find that some are unnecessarily harsh. I have stayed in many hostels and this one was just fine. A budget hostel generally means you will get the bare essentials for a sleeping stay. This stay, I booked one bed in a four bed room with a bath. I got clean sheets for my clean bed, the shower always had hot water, breakfast was free, and so was the WIFI. You can’t beat the location, plenty of attractions, Metros, eateries, and night life, all within walking distance from the hostel. If you are new to hostels, let me say there is a range. This one as far as amenities is on the low end, but if you just need a place to stay for a few nights while you are out seeing Paris all day, this is just fine. The staff was friendly, the common areas were clean, and I found that this hostel attracted a wide range of travelers. Now the one thing that was annoying is that the WIFI only works on the first floor, other than that I would totally stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask to stay on the top floor for a view

The rooms are clean and pretty big. Even the dorms for four people could easily hold more. The breakfast was a bit average but good enough for a hostel and I ate my fill! For 30 euros I say it is a nice place to stay!

So this hostel is located in Montmartre, near the Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur in Paris. It was about 30 euro a night for a four bed dorm with an ensuite bathroom. It was a decent value for the money but it was weird. There is no bar, there is no liquor allowed in from the outside and the breakfast in the morning has a cafeteria feel.
So, the beds were comfy it is safe and central. But if you are looking for fun people to hang out with, look elsewhere. Also the lineups at the front desk were a bit outrageous.

Room Tip: Apparently the fifth floor has a great view of Sacre Coeur, but the elevator is sketchy.

It was very nice, brillianty located, good value, clean and I loved the breakfast! The only thing I'd say is that as an older building, the noise levels were very bad. This constant load banging that I found quite alarming, kept me awake two nights in a row but I found my ear-plugs helped a lot. Other than that, no other complaints!

Stayed here at the beginning of March with three friends. We wanted something to suit our low budget in a convenient location. I had been to Paris before and was aware of how expensive accommodation can be but was very happy with Le Regent for the price we paid. We were on the 5th floor and had a fantastic view of the Sacre Coeur. Room was clean, and had an ensuite which could do with a facelift, but was convenient nontheless. Very close to the metro and was perfect for a weekend away as a base. Breakfast was free which is usually an additional fee, which was simple but all you needed. Would recommend for budget travellers.

Room Tip: 5th floor has a view of the Sacre Coeur

Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was nice and hot. The breakfast was also pretty decent. I stayed there for three nights, and my last night there were 5 people in the room, even though I had booked a 4 person room. The room was spacious though so it didn't matter.

Really conveniently located next to the metro, and it's a nice walk into the main part of town towards a lot of the attractions.

Room Tip: Book on their website. It was slightly cheaper than hostelbookers, and a lot cheaper than in person.

The hostel is really near the Metro and walking distance to Moulin Rouge and Sacré Coeur. The area is not the best, we were a bit scared of walking alone at night. Just of the metro station, super easy to travel around the city.
We stayed in a in suite room, just for our family. It was located by the stairs and super noisy. Good size room with confortable enought bed. The bathroom was OK too.
Continental breakfast with fresh baguette and croissant, was good too. The staff was helpfull and friendly.
Overall OK, but would not stay there again. I'll try to stay somewhere more central and safer.
